Of all the places he could have been summoned to, Danny Phantom had never considered a private school’s bathroom to be one of them.
With glowing green skin, a shock of flickering flames for hair, and a suit made out of the spaces between collapsing stars, Danny stared down at the stupefied faces of Gotham Academy’s finest students. One of them had their face in their hands, having caught sight of him and undergoing all the stages of grief in but a moment.
They sat around a circle that he was appropriately impressed with considering the limited space they had to work with. Danny could see the empty stalls, some of which were adorned with drawings and writings that were left by the, no-doubt, extremely busy caretaker.
“Seriously, a bathroom?” Danny wrinkled his nose.
“Holy shit, that actually worked?” One of the kids blurted out, then slammed their hands on top of their mouth.
“Did you expect it not to?” Danny squinted at them, frowning. It’s Friday, so it’s not like he had much to do, but Danny would prefer it if his time wasn’t wasted.
“No- no, your… uh, highness?”
“All of that schooling and you’re still uneducated,” one of the other ones hissed at the red headed kid who spoke. It’s “Your Majesty.” He’s a king, idiot!”
That was a pretty solid burn but, “It’s actually just Phantom. Did you guys want something? I’m busy.”
He’s not busy, but who cares?
“Uh…” the kids exchanged glances. The one in the back sighed and spoke up. He adjusted his glasses.
“We’re sorry for bothering you, Phantom. You wouldn’t happen to have a solution for dimensional separation, would you?”
“Huh.” Danny tilted his head, face souring. “I hate dimensional issues. They’re the worst. Who’s causing them?”
“His name’s Klarion!” The one who slapped a hand across his mouth earlier piped up.
“Oh! The lords of chaos or whatever. Yeah, I can help, for a price.”
Danny is against unpaid labor. Extremely against it, considering his side gig is being a half-dead vigilante. Then again, are you really a vigilante if you’re not half dead on a regular basis?
“What do you want?” Despite the reluctance from earlier, it’s clear the one with the glasses made the big decisions in this weird friend group.
“… A hundred dollars.”
“That’s it? No stipulations?” When Danny nodded, the kid had a calculating expression. “Deal.” The teen said immediately. He pulled out cash and wow, Danny’s definitely in a place with a different tax bracket.
He snatched it. Nasty burger money!
“Deal’s a deal. Also, don’t ever summon me again, but if you do, don’t ever do it in a bathroom again. You kids are so weird.” Danny floated out of the circle, grinning sharply. He formed a small bird- he doesn’t know why, but it felt right- of ice and handed it to the kid with glasses. “There. Proof of the deal.”
With that, Danny disappeared. Private school kids were so fucking weird, but… Dash and his goons were probably worse. What’s a little ritualistic summoning in the face of teenagers?
——
“I leave you guys alone for ten minutes and you summon the king of the dead?” Robin narrowed his eyes at his teammates, traitors who had the good graces to look sheepish. “How could you?! I wanted to try, too!”
Kid Flash patted him on the shoulder, a granola bar appearing in his mouth now that the possible world ending terror disappeared. “Sorry, Rob. Maybe next time! Magic still isn’t real though.”
“I’m not doing this shit in a bathroom again,” Artemis rolled back to her feet. “He sounded like he was going to rip our bones out if we ever summoned him in a bathroom again.”
“Ugh…”

having art and patrick as your boy best friends.
you met them in kindergarten. the three of you sat at the same table with another boy. said other boy was writing bad words on your drawing when art and patrick sprayed glue all over him.
they had to sit out of recess watching the other kids play. you brought them both flowers as a thank you and ever since then the three of you were inseparable.
so inseparable that when third grade came around and patrick saw that the three of you weren’t in the same class he brought his parents up to the school and demanded that you all be in the same class every year. middle and high school were no different.
you loved them but hated the gross tendencies they came with. “you have to sit in between us so we don’t fight over who sits next to you.” art says. but you hate sitting in between them cause it ended up with you getting caught in their burping matches. “you guys are so gross.”
but art and patrick really did care for you. so much so that at 11 when you got your first period and ignored them for a week they made it their duty to learn all about menstruation.
you were at lunch eating with your girl friends when art places a drink in front of you. “it’s a green smoothie full of iron rich vegetables so you can replenish after losesing so much blood. my mom made it.” the blonde smiles at you very proud of himself but your faces heats up in embarrassment. “also you can get pregnant now so like don’t do that.” patrick adds quite loudly and everyone is looking at you and your other friends are snickering at the interaction. you wanted to die.
watching art and patrick go though growth spurts was actually terrifying. and not to mention they ate everything. “can we get five home style burger plates two for us and one for her. with oreo milkshakes. oh and apple pie” patrick orders. you watch as the both of them clear their plates with ease now deciding if you all should go for ice cream.
it was the summer before freshman year and you had spent most of it with your grandparents but you made in back in time for the zweig end of summer party. “guys! did you miss me” you pull them in for a hug before you walk ahead of them into the zweig house. the two of the watch you with confusion. when did you become a girl?
art and patrick never really saw you as “girlish” the way they saw other girls as girlish cause they’ve known you for so long. but something changed when you were at your grandparents house. you changed.
“dude you see that right.” patrick says. him and art watch you in the pool talking to your other friends. “she has boobs.” art groans at his friends perverted observation. “can you like not stare at her chest. that’s weird.” “what, all i’m saying is that she has boobs now guys like boobs. boobs and guys are no good match. horny assholes will try to get with her all year.” “can you stop saying boobs” art whispers “they’ll break her heart and get her pregnant. we have to protect her.” patrick says sternly.
the first two years of high school boys avoided you like the plague.
“do you guys think i’m ugly?” you blurt out one night the three of you laying on your bed watching juno. both of them sputter out a slue of what’s and why would you think that. “it’s just no one’s asked me to the formal. i’m literally the only person i know who doesn’t have a date.”
patrick looks at you before shrugging. “you can come with us duh. me and art will be your date we can make it a group thing.” art nods in agreement. this makes you feel worse. “i don’t want to be your guys pity date. plus your girlfriends hate me.” art sits up turning to you. “it’s not a pity date. formals are supposed to be about having fun with you friends. and our girlfriends don’t hate you.” oh but they totally did.
you end up going to formal with art, patrick and their girlfriends and have a surprisingly good time. the night is ending and patrick’s ditch the two of you so you and art sit on the empty football field just the two of you.
“so where’s your girlfriend?” you ask. “making out with the quarterback under the bleachers.” art sighs out looking up at the sky. you wince. “sorry” art mumbles out a whatever picking at the trimmed grass.
“her loss right.” you bump your shoulder with his. art scoffs “yeah, now at least she’ll have someone to grope her.” “wait wait is big shot tennis man too scared to grope his girlfriend.” art shoves you. “shut up ok, guys get nervous too.” humming you say. “if a guy so much as wanted to kiss me i’d just do it.” eyes looking up.
arts head snaps towards you. “have you never been kissed before?” you shake your head no. “but we’re almost juniors, how have you never been kissed?” “maybe because you and pat intimidate any guy that’s has interest in me. which is really fucking annoying by the way.” you huff. “sorry about that, pat just doesn’t want you to end up on teen mom.”
the two of you sit in silence for a while. “i could kiss you.” art says. you look over to him heart beat picking up. art is a good looking guy obviously, but he was your best friend. “wouldn’t that be weird?” you bite your lip out of nervousness. “doesn’t have to be.”
you get your first kiss that night. on the football field under the night sky. it was nice, art’s lips felt nice. moving slowly against yours his hand tenderly holding your cheek. you both break away from the kiss to breathe. “thanks” you whisper.
you guys never talk about what happened that night. not to patrick and not to each other. the same way you don’t talk about the kiss you and patrick share in his treehouse at his family’s goodbye summer party before junior year.

"I Have What?"
requested: @narkissistikos
words: 3267
warnings: swearing, suicide references, reader gets attacked, (I know the title is kinda bad, but if you read the story, then it's kinda funny), Miranda is actually a bitch like I hate people like her
summary: You're a mortal who keeps seeing weird monsters, but everyone thinks you're crazy, so when you're at an amusement park and get attacked by a monster, you meet the one and only Luke Castellan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone said you were crazy, that none of it was real. Your parents didn't believe you, they thought you just had a wild imagination, your friends tried to ignore the weird things you told them about, and everyone judged you when they would you talk of monsters. Monsters weren't real was what everyone told you, but you would swear on the gods that they were, and that you could see them.
Eventually you were brought to a doctor, but they also called you crazy, an attention seeker, or that you just had a wild imagination. Everyone thought you just saw these things because you were always cooped up in your room drawing fantasy creatures from old myths. Your doctor recommended going outside, hanging out with friends, and trying to forget all the weird things you believed you say.
So once your parents told your friends, your friends decided what better to do than bring you to an amusement park. How could you not have fun there with the endless rides, greasy food, and the sound of hundreds of screaming kids? So fun (I'm being sarcastic).
You needed this, which was a major lie your friends and family told you. Just like every rich family, they can't have their little screw up who might be crazy, being shown out in public that way. So now here you are, three doctors, a bunch of medication that didn't work, and about 20 cover ups of your "stunts" (as your parents called them), later in your own personal hell, have fun.
"First we should do the Tilt-A-Whirl, then we can go on the bumper cars, then get food, then head to the Ferris Wheel," Stephanie said. With her everything had to be planned out, which wasn't so bad, but sometimes it sucked since then no one could divert from the schedule.
"I think that guy is looking at me. Do you think he's cute? Cause he's cute," Miranda said, looking at something that looked like it crawled onto Earth. Miranda was one of those girls who only talked about guys, and by the time you had a full conversation with her, you'd wish someone would pick her already.
Now you might be thinking, 'why would you be friends with those two if they made you want to jump off the top of the Ferris Wheel'. Well Little Sally, the only reason we hangout with them is because we have to. Stephanie was your mom's best friend's daughter, so if you two weren't friends then apparently your mom's had failed as friends, which made zero sense, but whatever. And Miranda was apparently a package deal (that no one ordered) with Stephanie.
The only decent one in your group was Christina. She didn't talk much, but the glances the two of you sent each other were louder than Miranda's laugh when a guy was around. Christina had been your friend since the beginning of middle school, and for some reason stuck around till now. She was your only real friend in your life, and the only one who cared. She might've thought you were also a bit crazy, but hey, it at least made you funny.
"Let's just get this over with," you said, walking towards the Tilt-A-Whirl.
Miranda groaned, "Don't be such a bummer, we're here to have fun," you and Miranda probably would've murdered each other by now if it wasn't for Christina reminding you that colleges don't accept you if you have a murder charge.
You rolled your eyes, turning away from her as Christina spoke to you, "If you don't upset her too much, then I'll buy you a slushie as compensation."
"Fine, but only if it's blue," you only drank blue slushies, they were like crack to you. You had made it through the Tilt-A-Whirl without hurling the two girls off the ride, and had made it through bumper cars with running them over either, so a wins a win I guess.
You were getting food now, since you were more likely to murder someone on an empty stomach, which was not a good thing when Miranda was around. Christina was busy getting you guys slushies like she promised you, while Miranda was flirting with the cashier when she was supposed to be getting you burgers. You stood in line for cheese fries when something caught your eye.
'Was that a snake!' you questioned yourself, as you swore you saw a snake slither out of the hat the cashier at the popcorn stand was wearing. You tried to slow down your breathing since it sped up from the shock. 'It's just another reason they think you're crazy. Don't let them think you're crazy’ the words everyone told you ringing through your head again.
The guy behind you seemed to notice that you seemed a bit out of it, "Cool shirt," he said, referring to your AC/DC shirt.
It caught you off guard, and you had to look down at what shirt you were wearing, "What- oh, uh thanks," you managed to stumble out, a bit embarrassed since the guy was kind of cute, but you have bigger problems right now.
"Are you okay?" he asked, seeming to be concerned about you in your shocked state. I'll take things that have never happened before for 500 Alex.
You looked up at him, taking in his brown hair and the scar on his face, "I-I'm fine," you told him, trying to think of an excuse since telling a stranger you saw a snake in someone's hair is something only bat-shit crazy people say, "I just witnessed someone sneeze into the popcorn, not something you usually want to see when you're about to eat," you lied, or at least tried to. How the fuck does someone know if their bad at lying or not? Welp, guess it's up the gods if he thinks I'm weird or not, oh look nothing new.
Surprisingly he let out a small chuckle, "I never trust any of the food here, I'm just getting some for my friends," he said.
You nodded, your mind still a bit distant. The strange guy nudged you a bit, "Hey, you're next," he said, since the person in front of you left.
"Oh, thanks, sorry," you said, quickly before walking up to the cashier. That was the last you said to the mystery guy, since he didn't talk to you again after you ordered. You made your way over to your friends, sitting down next to Christina.
"Oh my god," Miranda started, as you started to want to gouge out your eyeballs, "Who was that guy you were talking to? He was so cute, do you think he has a girlfriend?" she asked, then continued to talk about him, asking a million questions that you wouldn't know since you talked to him for not even a minute, and it was a lie you told, so that you didn't look fucking crazy.
"I don't know Miranda. I talked to him for like 30 seconds and it was about some lady who sneezed into the popcorn, by the way, don't get popcorn," you told her, fed up with her million questions.
Stephanie eyed you and said, "You don't need to be so rude, she was just asking," that's it you were jumping off the Ferris Wheel.
Christina could sense the tension, so she intervened, "Did you guys see Evan and Quinn walking around? I didn't even know they were going out," she gossiped, since it was the best diversion to use on the two. You zoned out, preferring to keep you sanity. Which was ironic since when you looked at the lady at the cotton candy stall, you swore she had wings, fangs, and claw-like hands. Okay, maybe you were fucking crazy.
The other weird thing was then when you looked back she looked like a normal person again. Even weirder was that the brown haired stranger looked at her too, then right at you. Something was definitely going on, but you sure as hell don't want to know.
You and your friends were about to head onto the Ferris Wheel, but something inside you told you not to.
"Stop being such a loser," Miranda complained, since she always had to have a problem with you.
"Stop being such a bitch, then maybe I will," you said, walking away. That wasn't your best comeback, but it'll do for now. You stood by yourself against a fence, contemplating why you didn't get on the Ferris Wheel. Was it A) the thought of being high up with Miranda was too tempting to push her off, and you didn't need a felony charge, B) that food was not sitting right, or C) did it have something to do with that the lady from the popcorn stand who now had wings, fangs, and snakes for hair, was about to attack the brown hair boy from earlier. If you picked C) then ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.
Shit.
You ran forward, pulling the boy back by his shirt before she could attack. His friends turned to look at the boy now on the ground, as you felt the greatest humiliation ever. The lady was gone, now making you look like a crazy person who attacked someone for no reason.
"What the hell is wrong with you," he yelled out in anger, dusting himself off as he stood up.
You stumbled back, confused to what had just happened, "I-I," you could barely make out any words, "I swore I...fuck," you said, running into the nearest bathroom to hide in.
You were crazy, you were bat-shit crazy. You were seeing things. Everyone was right. There's something incredibly wrong with you. Why would you do that?
In the midst of trying to call yourself down, you didn't even notice the woman next to you washing her hands, "You're really pretty, it's a shame what I'm about to do to you," she said, making you scared? confused? You didn't know anymore.
"Wha-what," was all you could stumble out, taking a step back.
She let out a breath, "You keep getting in my way, and I can't have that," she shouted at you, before lunging to attack. You had some self defence lessons, plus the skills from random rich people activities like fencing, plus great fight or flight instincts, so before she could rip your throat out, you dodged to the side. She ran into the sink, breaking it which probably hurt like a bitch.
Are you crazy, or are you crazy? Is what you kept asking yourself. The weird lady (more like a creature thing, since she had her wings and fangs back) lunged at you again, but you ran out of the bathroom this time.
You'd made it a good distance away from the bathroom when you accidentally ran into someone, literally. Your face hit their chest, making you stumble back a bit, and you would've fallen if it weren't for someone else catching you.
To your horror it was the boy and his group of friends from earlier. And to make it worse he was the one who caught you, "I got you," he said, "Now where is she?" he asked, his voice sounding rather urgent.
Your brain was still spinning as you tried to process everything, "Wha-what, you can see them?" you asked, entirely confused as to how they knew the things you kept seeing.
"Yes, but that's a conversation for later. Where did you last see her?" the girl of the group asked, and may you add, she seemed a lot scarier than everyone else.
You took a moment to catch your breath, "The bathrooms by the food stalls. It was the one from the popcorn stand, she tried attacking me," you told her, knowing that sentence sounded a bit crazy.
The boy still holding onto you nodded to the rest of the group, which consisted of 2 others, "Stay here," he said, as he started to head off with the others.
You snapped out of your dazed state and caught the boy's hand, "Wait, first tell what those things are," you demanded, finally wanting to know what the things you were seeing actually were.
"Later, just stay here for now," he said, trying to pull his hand away, but failing. Luckily for you (and unluckily for him) you were a pretty strong person.
"No," you said, standing your ground, "I've spent my entire life terrorised by those things, and now I have a chance for answers, so just tell what they are."
The boy seemed to have to bite back a smile, "You're feisty, you know that," he said, only making you more annoyed.
"And you're an asshole, are we going to spend the entire time naming each other's flaws, or are you going to tell me," you retorted.
He let out a sigh before speaking, "Let me go and I'll tell you, promise," he said, you had no other option so you let go, and trusted he would tell you, "Their gorgons, but I'm guessing you've seen other monsters. Do you know both of your parents?"
That was a weird fucking question, but not the weirdest thing to happen to you, "Why would you ask that, what relevance does that have to any of this?" you questioned.
"I-I just-" he said, trailing off when his friends had returned, but this time being attacked by gorgons, "shit." He then left you standing there, as he pulled out a sword from some random object. What the actual fuck is going on.
You watched the three people fight, as the people around you minded their own business, steering clear of the fight. How were they so calm, could they not see what was going on? You were too caught up in your thoughts to notice the dagger coming straight at your face. The boy turned around, a look of horror, then relief washed over him, as the blade went straight through you, falling onto the ground.
At that moment the boy realized you were mortal, and you realized your life is fucked up. Once again snapping out of your daze, you say the girl on the ground with the gorgon about to attack her. Without thinking (let's be honest, when do you ever think) you grabbed the dagger, throwing it at the gorgon. It hit her straight in the neck, causing her to fall to the ground and disappear.
The two boys quickly killed the other gorgon, helping up the girl as they made their way towards you, "You okay?" the brown hair boy asked.
"Oh, you know just another Tuesday," you said, your voice full of sarcasm.
"It's Saturday," the other boy said, not getting your sarcasm.
The girl hit him on the chest, "She's being sarcastic, dumbass. He's not the brightest person."
You nodded, "So, why can I only see the monsters, what are these monsters? Who are you guys? Why could no one see what was going on? Why did that dagger-" you were cut off by the boy with the scars, whose name you still didn't know, which was annoying.
"Woah, calm down," you shot him a glace, since that definitely wasn't the best thing to say in this situation, "You can see the monsters cause you have clear sight," he explained as if that made any sense.
"I have what?" you asked, still confused.
The boy seemed a bit apprehensive about telling you more, due to...issues we won't get into right at this moment, so the girl spoke up, "It means you can see through the mist," which once again did not help.
"That also doesn't explain shit, what even is the mist?" you asked, wanting someone to explain to you what was fully going on.
The other boy spoke up, "Should we tell her everything, or maybe bring her to Chiron?" he asked.
The boy went to speak, but the scary girl spoke first, "We can't just leave her clueless, we have to tell her."
"It could make her life worse though," the brown haired boy said.
They continued to argue until you spoke up, "Are you going to keep talking about me like I'm not here, or are you going to explain?" you asked, frustrated by what was going on.
"Look just let us talk for a moment," he said, before leaning closer to you, "Then we'll tell you everything, I promise," he said, his voice now rather low.
You knew better than to trust the word of a pretty boy, but dam was it hard not to, "Fine, but you better explain everything." The boy nodded, walking over to his friends as they huddled to talk. They weren't that quiet so you could hear almost everything. Something about a camp, and someone named Chiron, and how it would be a lot for you, and blah blah blah.
Their huddle came to an end when the other boy who didn't talk much shouted, "Would your parents care if you were missing for a little bit?"
Normally that would be a weird question, but nothing seemed to bother you anymore, "I don't even think they would notice if I disappeared for a year," you shouted back.
The boy approached you again, his friends standing a little ways away from you two, "We're going to take you somewhere where everything can be explained to you. You don't have to go, but if you want answers it might be your best bet, since it's a lot," he explained.
"I want answers, but why should I travel to some mysterious place, with three strangers whose names I don't even know," you countered, a bit sceptical.
"Fair point," he said, "Then here, I'm Luke Castellan," he held out his hand for you to shake.
The dumb gesture made you smile, something you hadn't done all day, "Y/N L/N," you introduced, still holding onto his hand.
Luke could feel his heart speed up a bit from how you were still holding his hand, and the fact that he made you smile, "Will you come with us now?" he asked hopefully, "I promise you won't regret it."
"That's usually something someone says before they do something regretful, but fine, I'll go," you said, watching his face light up with excitement.
"Great, my friends will get us set up to go, just know the way there may be a bit unconventional," he said, still holding onto your hand.
"I would expect nothing less," you joked, excited about what the future held for you.
You two waited for Luke's friends to come back, and made small talk trying to get to know each other, "I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier," he said, referring to when you made him fall down.
"In my defence I was trying to save you from a gorgon," you said, trying to not be embarrassed by your actions.
"My hero," he joked, as his friends arrived with the chariot.
"I don't think anything can surprise me anymore," you uttered, no longer surprised by the weird things you saw.
Luke let out a chuckle, "Oh trust me princess, there's a lot crazier things in this world that will surprise you," he said, the name sliding off his tongue by accident.
You tried to not let the effect the name had on you show, but you rather liked it. You didn't know what the future held for you and Luke, but you were rather excited for it. Unlike Clarisse and Ethan who already wanted to jump out of the chariot.

🌱🩷: Smn requested a pt2 of the U-20 team meeting crossdresser!Yn. So here it is!
Warnings: Reader uses she/her. In the story the boys will be using he/him when addressing Yn. Requests for this series are open.
⚽️Blue Lock belongs to Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura⚽️
"Hmmm?" Sendou squinted his eyes as he observed the Blue Lock team.... well, the starters more than anybody else. They were all somewhat interesting, but also boring to some regards, yet he couldn't stop looking at them. Or, better yet, a certain person in the team. The (h/c) haired striker of the team certainly stood out, as he looked way more... softer(?) than the rest of his team. Even his movements weren't like those from the other guys.
"Hey, Sendou. Stop staring into space and listen to what Aiku is saying." Hayate said lazily as Teru and Teppei nodded their heads.
"Yeah, we need to win this game."
"Sae is already being annoying with how 'lukewarm' we are." Cho rolled his eyes as Niou sent the older Itoshi and Shidou death glares.
"Sorry... it's just... that Blue Lock striker over there is very odd." Sendou said as he discreetly pointed at (Y/n), who was busy talking with Hiori and Kurona about something.
"Odd? He is just standing." Niou pointed out.
"Also, you being distracted resulted in him scoring the 2nd goal." Itsuki added in.
Sendou blushed in embarrassment and glared at his teammates.
"Shut it! And he is odd. Even the way he is standing is odd. It's as if I am seeing one of those idol girls."
"You have completely lost it." Teppei said calmly.
"Maybe we should limit your TV and internet access." Teru suggested.
"What are you all talking about now?" Oliver raised an eyebrow as he and Miroku approached them.
"Sendou think that (L/n) guy is a girl." Hayate simply stated.
"I never said he was a girl! I just said he reminds me of those idol girls!" The boy flushed a bright red.
"Oookkay..." Oliver said as he looked over at the said player.
"Regardless, let's just play now. Sae is already being an ass to me."
"Deserved." Miroku and Niou added in.
"Hey!"
As the 3 bickered, Sendou turned to look at the striker again. Sadly, this time, he wasn't as secretive, and Hiori noticed his staring, drawing (Y/n)'s attention to it. The two made brief eye contact, and Sendou swore he could feel his heart doing a flip or two as he stared into the player's eyes.
'Just what is it about you?'
Sendou thought that his encounter with the striker would end when the match ended, but no! They actually met up again at that karaoke bar, and again, Sendou had this weird feeling about the striker.
'He is just too perfect with girls... as if he knows first hand what they want to hear.' Sendou thought as he watched the boy's interaction with the two older girls. Meanwhile, Hayate, Teru, and Miroku were making fun of a pouting Oliver. Sendou watched as the striker's friends pulled him away from the girls.
"Stop being weird, Sendou." Cho warned the redhead.
"What?"
"You are staring at the dude like he killed someone." Teppei noted.
"Please, whatever sort of weird feelings you have for him, sort it out. It's getting stressful to watch." Niou added in as Sendou flushed a deep red as he tried to deny that statement. Itsuki snickered a little.
"You do have a weird fixation." Miroku said, walking over to the group.
"Bachira, please don't make a scene!" (Y/n) yelled as he pulled him away from an argument with Oliver.
"He does remind me of a idol tho... I have to give it to Sendou for noticing it first." Hayate added in.
"Please don't tell me you have been staring too." Niou groaned.
"In my defense, he is cute." Sendou grumbled at the statement Hayate made, and got even more agitated as Miroku and Teru agreed.
"So, a bowling match it is!" Oliver exclaimed, getting the attention of the rest of the team.
"What?" Niou wondered.
"We agreed to a bowling match with you guys." (Y/n) spoke up as she tried to get Bachira off of her arm.
"Losers buy the winners food." The (h/c) haired striker finished.
"Well, in our case Reo is buying the food." Chigiri and Isagi snickered.
"Aiyah... I guess. Bachira, can you let go of my arm now?"
"No." The bicolored boy said, which caused Chigiri and Isagi to grab onto Bachira to pull him off of (Y/n).
"There goes my hoodie." She sighed as the U-20 team watched in amusement... well, except for Oliver.
"And you! Blue Lock's number 12!"
"Ha?" The four looked at him in confusion, as the U-20 team sighed in defeat.
"Here we go." Cho and Teru said quietly.
"When the bowling game ends... how about you be a good brother to me and tell me your tricks on how you swooned those two girls soe easily." Oliver grinned, putting a  arm around (Y/n)'s shoulder.
"What?" The girl asked, dumbfounded by the statement.
"Why is he touching (Y/n)?"
"I don't know... doesn't he have a disease or something?"
"His breath probably smells, too." Isagi, Chigiri, and Bachira commented among themselves, trying to hold themselves back from ripping Oliver away from their striker.
"Eh... I don't know." (Y/n) raised an eyebrow as Oliver pulled her out of the room.
"Hey!" The three Blue Lock players protested.
"Hold it right there! Where are you going with (Y/n)?!" Otoya's voice was heard from down the hallway.
"That's not how you hold a bowling ball, Hayate-san." (Y/n) noted as she watched the white-haired boy struggle holding the ball.
"What?" The taller raised an eyebrow.
"You need to grab tightly onto it with all 3 fingers... that's way too loose." (Y/n) showed the shaky hand that was holding the ball. Although she didn't play or like this sport much, she knew some rules.
"You might injure your hand like that." She said simply finished as Hayate observed her hand for a moment and then repeated the same hold.
"Thanks."
"Welcome, let's have a fair game then." (Y/n) said as Hayate was about to say something, but the girl got pulled away by Nagi. The U-20 player watched with some new found interest the striker.
'Odd... but Sendou was right... there is something about the number 12 that isn't like the rest...' The white haired boy thought.
"You think that something is weird about him too, don't you?" Sendou suddenly spoke up from behind Hayate, who slowly nodded his head.
"There really is."
"Hey, you two! Focus! I need those tips from (Y/n)." Oliver warned the duo, who looked at him in confusion.
"What?"
"I made (Y/n) promise to give me tips about girls, if we win." Oliver simply stated.
"You... are getting dating tips from your junior?" Cho asked in disbelief.
"This is gold. I wish I had my camera with me." Miroku chuckled as Niou held in a laughter. Teppei tried to calm everyone down, but he did find this whole ordeal funny.
"Shut it!" Oliver yelled with an embarrassed blush as Teru and Itsuki patted their captain's back, silently laughing as well.

a/n: this was partly made bc i cant get over the idea of larray tara and nick as a trio like IM GNA LOSE IT. the tiktok talked about was (https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSF8YxXn6/) its so funny i need to include it.
——————————————————————————
Nick laughs, reading Larray’s last message about a tiktok he found of a guy pretending to be called gay in middle school and his friend defending him, both of them relating to that video strongly.
He tries to reign in his grin, as he’s on a supermarket trying to buy groceries, and laughing to yourself is just plain weird, so he forces himself to press his lips together as Larray and Tara sent jokes that make his belly hurt. He briefly takes his eyes off the string of messages, hearing a loud cough, and clocks grey sweatpants on strong thighs. He’s interested, immediately, checking out the rest of the tall boy who is standing next to him by the snack aisle, holding onto his cart. A black short sleeved compression shirt defining his strong chest and bicep, complimenting bouncy and slightly curly brown hair, a face adorning deep brown eyes that could pass for both handsome or pretty, and veiny hands that make Nick’s mind wander. He texts the group.

Nick: hottest. guy. ever. in the grocery store
Larray: ???? not possible, I’m at home

Nick: I can’t take a pic guys that’s creepy
Larray: PHOTO
Tara: PHOTO
Nick: No
Tara: come oooonnnn PHOTO
Nick: ugh fine
It didn’t take much for them to convince Nick because he knows he actually really wants to take a picture of the hottie to his right, for scientific purposes of course. Nick makes sure his phone is on silent before he angles it, tipping it back a little as he hopes he captures most of the guy. He tries to look at others on the store, rather than focus on what he’s doing, thumb moving around where he thinks the snapshot button is until – flash – the bright white light of his camera lights up the entire back case of his phone.
Nick feels his heart catch in the back of his throat, and he’s slow in moving his hand, the immediate humiliation making him freeze. He can’t help but look at the stranger, and he sees how he takes in Nick’s obvious creeper shot, Nick feeling the anxiety coarse through him at lightning speed.
He’s fearful as the stranger frowns, stepping over to him, and Nick slightly backs up immediately.
“I’m - ”
“Did you just take a photo of me?” the stranger asks, and Nick thinks his face may melt, the shame of his actions making him lie, shaking his head silently.
“You didn’t?” the stranger asks, even more handsome, prettier, up close, but he’s clearly unimpressed by Nick’s rudeness, and Nick is panicking, brain drawing blanks.
“I…” Nick gapes, looking for the words, “I’m sorry.”
“Why?” the stranger demands forcefully, grabbing Nick’s phone, Nick gasping at that, but too embarrassed to fight it. The boy doesn’t look through Nick’s phone, just holds it and stares at Nick accusingly, Nick having to shrug, truly embarrassed and he feels pairs of eyes on his back judging him.
“Come with me,” the stranger demands, still holding Nick’s phone, making his way to ut of the store, both of their carts abandoned. Nick doesn’t have much of a choice if he values his phone, and he follows, ashamed.
“I am sorry,” he pants, keeping up with the other boy’s pace, “can I have it back?”
The stranger slows down slightly, starting to look through the phone. Nick realises with horror that his phone isn’t locked, as he kept the camera open, and he reaches to grab his phone back, but the stranger is tall, holding it higher as he clicks on the incoming messages.
Larray: PHOTO!!! What’s with the silence girl? You better be sucking his dick!
Tara: PHOTO
The stranger scrolls up, Nick groaning in embarrassment, watching him read Nick’s earlier messages about how hot he is.
“Seriously creepy,” he shakes his head, deep voice just making it even worse as Nick cringes, “you’re perving on me in the store and taking my photo without my consent?”
“I’m genuinely sorry,” Nick said, his voice tinged with guilt, “I’ll delete it immediately and leave.”
The boy is doing something on his phone and Nick attempts to grab it back, but still, he’s too slow, still not tall enough.
“Ah ah,” the stranger tuts, “don’t worry. I was just sending your friends the creepy photo.” Nick starts to feel a little sick with anxiety, just wanting this to be over. He is never, ever listening to both his friends again. He’s frustrated and desperate, and in a fit of anger, he flounces off, “keep the fucking phone,” he rages, regretting it instantly, but he has no choice but to continue walking, leaving his very badly needed phone in the hands of another man. You idiot, you’re a public figure, what if he does something to your socials, he screams internally
“Hey!” Nick hears, “come back here.” He stops, and looks at the stranger with anxiety, his face hot from the embarrassment as he awkwardly walks back. Nick is confident that now his phone will be given back to him and he is secretly relieved, knowing he can’t afford to walk away and leave his public image in the hands of a stranger. He isn’t sure how he’d explain that to his brothers.
“You could make it up to me,” the boy suggests, and Nick looks at him properly, the smirk on his mouth and the way his eyes move, seemingly resting on Nick’s crotch.
“W – what?” Nick stammers, blushing, and the guy shrugs.
“You think I’m hot,” he states, “I think you’re hot, too.”
Nick chuckles nervously, unsure, a little scared this is some bizarre prank, but the boy is so sincere, nothing about him suggesting this is a joke. Nick has seen the look he has in his eyes in many boys and men, who Nick has flirted with and fucked before, but this is the first time Nick’s ever felt so drawn to another.
“I live near here,” the boy gestures, “I can think of a few things you can do for me to make up for your lack of manners.”
Nick wants to tell him to fuck off, wipe the slightly arrogant smirk off his face, but the confident way the guy stands, waiting on Nick’s response, his certainty, is making Nick’s dick twitch in interest, in want.
“Whatever,” the man smiles, casually slipping the phone back into Nick’s pocket before shrugging again, sauntering off, leaving Nick stood in the middle of the parking lot, torn between walking away – and he knows, he knows, kicking himself for it – or running after this guy desperately, letting him know how badly he wants him to make good on his promises.
He’s about to disappear when Nick makes a snap decision and runs after him, panting as he catches up, the boy turning to look at him from his car as he hears footsteps, bursting out in a laughter, his grin taking up his entire face. Nick readjusts his sweater.
“I’m horny, don’t – don’t get cocky,” he mutters, but the other boy doesn’t say a word, just makes Nick feel dizzy with a long look as he opens the passenger seat of his car and motion for Nick to get inside.
“Nick, right?” he asks, as he hops in and shut the door of the drivers seat, and Nick nods, assuming he saw his name on the messages, “I’m Ethan.”
Nick was going to respond but his eyes catches the way Ethan’s seatbelt tightens on his pecs and Nick almost drooled. His eyes traveled upward to see this adonis-like man smirking and Nick swiftly turned his head towards the road. The drive to the apartment was short and thankfully not awkward due to the music playing, but Nick was still sweating even with the air conditioner on because oh my god he’s so fucking hot, is that his huge dick print on his sweatpants? Fuck, his veins are so visible why are his fingers so LONG? that shit can reach my tonsi-
His thoughts were interrupted by the car finally parked at the other man’s house. Both of them walked towards the door with haste and no words exchanged, eyes focused on going inside.
Ethan unlocked the door and let Nick in, the latter unable to get a word out before Ethan’s mouth flew towards his, and he’s harsh and fast and demanding, so Nick matches it, kissing Ethan like he needs it, and maybe he does. Ethan is shoving him into what Nick assumes is his bedroom, pulling off Nick’s sweater, as Nick yanks that heavenly tight shirt, until they meet Ethan’s bed and Ethan throws him down on it. He watches, heart racing, as Ethan pulls down his jeans, pulling at them forcefully, yanking them off as Nick helps him, pulling him back down for a kiss. Nick’s never known someone kiss this way; unyielding and demanding as he grabs Nick’s head and devours him, Nick pulling back at Ethan’s tangled hair, until Ethan grabs him wrists and pins them down.
Nick can’t help but moan, his dick hard in his briefs, because Ethan is pressing all his buttons right now. He hates the self-satisfied grin on Ethan’s smug, pretty face, but there’s no denying Nick loves it rough, which Ethan clearly does too.
“Like that, sweetheart?” Ethan asks, tongue running over his bottom lip, Nick watching it’s every moment, groaning in response, Ethan’s large hands still wrapped around delicate wrists, still pinning Nick down. Nick is fully hard and needy now, Ethan letting go of his wrists to grip each side of his face and bruise him with a kiss, Nick making the most of his new found freedom by gripping Ethan’s shoulders, nails digging in.
He’s a mess already, the curly haired man moving harsh kisses to his neck and chest as he moves down, the kisses becoming wetter, sloppier, Nick whimpering as Ethan ghosts over his clothed dick, mouthing at him teasingly.
“Please,” Nick whispers, but Ethan either doesn’t hear or ignores it, pressing feather light kisses across him, Nick beginning to peel his briefs off only to have his hands batted away.
“Do that again and I’ll tie you up,” Ethan warns, and Nick’s cock jumps at the tone in his voice, obeying, hands grabbing fistfuls of Ethan’s duvet instead to stop them from straying. Ethan stops, pushing Nick encouraging so his head is propped up, and he has little choice except to look at Ethan as he mercifully begins to strip him off his briefs. Nick’s toes curl as they’re discarded and Ethan is back between his legs, Nick waiting for the inevitable lick, looking down at Ethan as he’s forced to wait.
“What?” he asks, knowing his face is pink and he’s far gone, Ethan looking at him with playful eyes as he spreads Nick’s legs even further apart, leaning down, finally, Nick thinks, to touch his dick, but Ethan presses wet kisses and soft bites to the inside of Nick’s right thigh, moving up as he gets closer to Nick’s dick, nudging his balls with his nose and Nick is going to pass out from the feel of Ethan’s skin right there, from feeling his tongue and his little huffs of breath, whimpering embarrassingly loud as Ethan finally licks a long stripe up his dick to the tip, suckling the pre-cum collected there before he stops.
“Ethan,” Nick begs, and Ethan does the same to his left, Nick sure he’s intent on leaving bite marks on his fleshy thighs where there’s plenty for Ethan to sink his teeth into, Nick wondering if it’s possible to come from this. He’s obeying Ethan’s no touching rule, for now, and it is torture, before Ethan repeats this special form of hell – licking from Nick’s balls up to the tip of his cock, in one long, slow lick – flicking his tongue over the head, and pulling away. “This – I can’t do this,” Nick moans, “please just, give me…”
Ethan shakes his head, and Nick falls quiet, until he feels the blessed tight heat of Ethan’s mouth around his cock, Ethan sucking his dick perfectly, swirling his tongue around the head as he comes up, Nick crying out, trying his best to hold off, to wait.
“Ethan, I’m – I - ” he whines, Ethan stopping, quick and elegant as he leans up and kisses Nick’s mouth, “what’s wrong, baby?”
“Let me,” Nick gasps, trying to push Ethan down, “I want to do it to you.”
He does, too, because Ethan’s sweatpants are still on and he needs them off, wants to see Ethan’s dick and taste it in his mouth. Nick loves sucking cock, loves the feel of it in his mouth and the taste of come, and he’s good at it, wants to make Ethan whimper in the way Ethan’s made him shake.
“Yeah? You like sucking dick?” Ethan asks, unyielding, sadly, still looming over Nick and Nick gives up on trying to change their positions, not exactly hating this one, Ethan grabbing his bitten thighs as he attacks Nick’s mouth and neck with his soft lips.
“Yeah,” Nick grins, “of course.”
“Why should I let you suck me off?” Ethan asks, letting Nick’s thighs drop as he keeps Nick pinned down, kissing parts of Nick’s face that Nick doesn’t think anyone has ever kissed, always coming back to his mouth, his neck, moving to his collarbone, shoulder, biting. Nick is going to look like he’s been in a fight. Matt and Chris will have a field day when he finally turns up at home.
“Um, because – I’m great?” Nick asks, frowning, wondering what kind of weirdo turns down a blowjob, and Ethan stops so he can look at Nick, Nick continuing to be bowled over by the way Ethan’s eyes seem to burn into his skin.
“What makes you so great, pretty boy?” Ethan rasps, and Nick brings his nails down Ethan’s back.
“I look good with a cock in my mouth,” Nick teases, “and, after all, you did say I need to make it up to you.”
“You need to, don’t you?” Ethan grins, then moving so that he straddles Nick’s waist, Nick helping him pull down his sweats, Ethan standing briefly to get the fabric off his feet and boxers off before he’s shuffling up, Nick still propped up nicely by the large pillows. Nick attempts to not given Ethan the satisfaction of his astonishment at how large Ethan’s dick is, but he fails.
“Still feeling confident, baby?” Ethan asks, hand wrapping around his cock as he plays with himself, jerking off, and Nick can’t help but lick his lips in anticipation, nodding, while he’s nervous he’s excited, knowing Ethan’s dick is going to fill him up properly, that he’ll feel the thick head knock at the back of his throat and makes his eyes water. He’s hungry for it. Ethan moves closer, knees over Nick’s shoulder as his big hand plants against the wall and his other hand hangs onto his headboard. Nick opens his mouth, ready for it, desperate for it, but he’s patient, waiting for Ethan’s say so, and Ethan makes slow, deliberate movements, wiping the leaking tip of his cock on Nick’s mouth and his cupid’s bow.
“Good boy for waiting,” Ethan praises, and Nick’s dick jumps, “you can suck it now, baby.”
Nick takes as much as he can, which is over half, but not all of it, and sucks in a hollow motion, moving back up before he forces himself to take every inch, down to Ethan’s balls, and pulls back, spluttering.
“Hey,” Ethan says, taking Nick by the chin, “take it easy, baby, don’t choke.”
“M’sorry,” Nick whispers, embarrassed, wanting to be good, to hear Ethan’s praises once more, and he’s easier with it this time, taking Ethan into his mouth and sucking him properly, rather than racing to get the entire dick inside him, and he can enjoy this, sucking Ethan at a nice, fast pace, but not too fast, getting off to the weight of Ethan’s dick and the smell of him, Ethan silent but present, running his thumbs over Nick’s cheekbones as Nick sucks his dick, happy and contented.
He mewls in protest when Ethan grabs his hair and pulls him off, trying to follow Ethan’s dick, not ready to stop, but Ethan isn’t interested, easily flipping Nick over so he’s face down on the bed. Nick waits as the pillows are wrenched from him, Ethan lifting him like a ragdoll as he puts them under Nick’s hips, Nick’s ass higher than before. Nick’s feels like he’s on fire, his skin aflame, pale but also pink with the heat, and he braces himself for Ethan’s fingers, surprised when Ethan covers him with his own body, kissing his neck.
“You’re so hot,” Ethan growls, mouth on Nick’s jaw, and Nick is sure Ethan is trying to actually eat him, “as soon as I saw you get on that aisle, the first thing I thought was, I want to fuck that boy,” Ethan smiles, Nick moaning as Ethan continues licking him, “saw your ass and thought, I bet he loves riding dick.”
Nick all but whimpers, pushing back, needy, and Ethan shows compassion, bringing his hand past Nick’s waist to curve over Nick’s ass, gripping at his hip.
“Do you? Love riding cock?” Ethan pants.
“Yeah,” Nick says, pushing his ass back to feel Ethan’s dick against it, “want me to ride you?”
“Patience, baby,” Ethan demands, pulling Nick over to kiss him, Nick moving with Ethan, not expecting the disappointed moan when Ethan leaves him, moving down and spreading Nick’s legs further apart. Nick keeps his hands up, mouth open and wet on his left hand, gripping the duvet with his other hand, and he trembles as Ethan spreads his ass open, crying out as he feels Ethan’s thumb tease over his rim, pressing down and ever so slightly inwards, teasing, always.
“I’m not a virgin,” Nick says throatily, hoping Ethan will speed up at that, the way he’s playing with Nick’s ass slow and gentle but mind melting at the same time, and Ethan just laughs at that, slapping Nick’s ass playfully with his other hand.
“I didn’t think you were,” Ethan says, voice loud in the silence of the apartment, “I still wanna take my sweet time.”
Nick whines as Ethan continues to give him something but not everything, loud as Ethan slips and pushes a finger inside of him, Nick stretching his legs, his toes, in a heavenly trance as the man explores him. He feels Ethan move, and then hears the squirt of lube, feels another finger join the first, and he gasps as Ethan scissors them, pulling them to the rim, almost fully out, as his thumb makes the gentlest of scrapes on his perineum, to his balls. Nick moans out on his hand, practically drooling.
He panics as he feels Ethan’s fingers disappear, not wanting this to be over, throwing his head back as he searches for an answer.
“Turn back around, baby,” Ethan insists, not looking at Nick, transfixed on his ass. He immediately obliges, feeling his brain mush and fill with Ethan Ethan Ethan. He feels like it’s been hours but he knows that’s untrue, and he’s ready to beg for it, for Ethan to open him again and slide his big cock inside him, but he doesn’t have to say anything as Ethan spreads him before dipping down. Nick all but screams as Ethan’s tongue licks across the rim of his hole, wet and rough. Nick instinctively tries to move forward, but he can’t; he’s facedown and Ethan’s hands are alternate from his hips to his asscheeks, spreading them again, as he eats Nick out. The rough texture of Ethan’s tongue, the way he presses his big, puffy lips on Nick’s rim is almost enough to make Nick sob. He’s holding it together, just thrusting as much as he can with the pillows underneath him and when he moves his forehead, he notices how sweaty he is, the back of his hands shining.
He yelps as Ethan pushes his tongue inside his hole and brings his hand up to the base of Nick’s spine, pressing his thumb inside of Nick to keep him slightly open. Nick is lost, utterly ruined, shook by how this stranger knows his body better than he does, whining as Ethan keeps his face buried in his ass; not for one-minute hesitating or slowing down as he eats Nick out as passionately as he kisses his mouth.
“I’m – Ethan - ,” he begs, knowing he’s a few well timed thrusts from Ethan’s tongue and fingers away from coming on the pillows beneath him, Ethan pulling his fingers out with a clear, wet pop, removing his tongue too, not before he sinks his teeth into one of Nick’s asscheeks. Nick is wrecked, his body tingling, his thighs burning from Ethan’s sharp teeth, a wetness between his legs like he’s never felt and an ache in his balls that is begging for release.
“You’re perfect,” Ethan assures him, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, Nick looking at him longingly over his shoulder, “what do you want, baby?”
“You,” Nick moans, pushing himself back, wanting Ethan’s cock in him, “please, Ethan.”
“Mmm,” Ethan muses, and Nick is pleased to see he’s also hot, pink, sweat linging on his forehead from exertion, Nick yelping as Ethan brings his hand down on Nick’s ass, playful but enough to tan it, “turn around.”
Nick does, fairly weak now and desperate, beyond desperate, for his orgasm to tear through him and leave him blind and gasping. Ethan throws away the pillows carelessly, grabbing Nick’s hips and bringing him down, as he lubes up his dick and presses the head against Nick’s hole. Nick nods, and Ethan begins to push, Nick inhaling, mouth open, as he feels the familiar burn of a nice, thick cock pressing inside of him. Ethan is slow but intense, forcing Nick’s thighs up as he makes his way in, Nick groaning, a little high pitched towards the end when he feels Ethan is fully in. He lets one of Nick’s legs drop, apparently unable to leave Nick’s face or hair alone, before he begins to fuck Nick, gently at first.
“You naughty boy,” Ethan whispers, “is this what you wanted, huh?”
“Yeah,” Nick begs, voice broken, “god, please, give it to me.”
Ethan doesn’t waste time. Nick lets go of any dignity he was hoping to keep, moaning and whimpering with every single thrust Ethan makes. Ethan takes Nick like Nick belongs to him, like this is his right, to spread Nick wide and to fuck him, hips snapping into hips as Ethan clings to him tightly, Nick feeling Ethan’s dick so deep inside him, touching places he’s never felt anyone touch, his vision clouding over.
“Ethan,” Nick sobs, overwhelmed, Ethan slowing down, holding Nick open by his thighs as he pulls his cock out, Nick horrified.
“Ethan! Please! No! I’m sorry, I’m fine, I’m ok, please give it to me,” Nick begs, now losing his self-respect along with his long-gone dignity, feeling on the edge of tears. Ethan can’t leave him like this, can’t bring him to the brink of such pleasure to stop, it’s too cruel, Ethan once again flipping him over so now Nick is on his stomach. He cries out as Ethan slides straight back in, pulling Nick so Nick is on his knees, his upper body stretched out, Ethan’s big hands on both hips, slamming into him, the wet sound of slapping skin obscene alongside Nick’s enthusiastic cries and Ethan’s panting.
Nick is dripping with sweat, sliding off his own arms every time he tries to rest his head, yelping as Ethan yanks him up by his hair.
“Yeah? This what you need, Nick?” he asks, grunting, and Nick moans his agreement, unable to do much else. The forced stretch of his neck is delicious, Ethan not letting his pace drop for a moment, setting a punishing and perfect speed, Nick’s leaking cock a mess as he feels his balls tighten, knowing he’s finally, finally going to lose control and feel that blissful high.
“Want you to come like this,” Ethan says, slapping his ass again, “want you to come from getting fucked.” Nick can’t say anything, can’t even nod, because Ethan’s still pulling his hair as he slams in, quickening his almost reckless pace, Nick only concentrating on that one thing, that one feeling. Ethan is hitting his spot, perfect and fast and desperate and with one last yank of Nick’s hair, he is coming, begging and groaning, babbling a mixture of Ethan and God, blacking out as he does.
He’s beyond over-stimulated, debauched and destroyed as Ethan follows him, letting go of Nick’s hair to cling onto his hips and fuck him with a few last, sprinting thrusts, Nick gasping as he feels Ethan fill him with come, warm and thick, Ethan crying out loudly as well, collapsing on top of Nick.
“Fuck,” Ethan groans into Nick’s hair, “holy fuck.”
“Yeah,” Nick agrees, still too weak to open his eyes or speak.
Ethan kisses the back of his neck before he pulls out his dick, Nick cringing as he hears the wet sounds, feeling Ethan fall out of him, and he’s mildly disgusted when Ethan rocks back onto his knees, opening Nick’s ass again, looking down at his wet, come filled ass.
“Ethan,” Nick accuses, feeling his face heat up Ethan further, Ethan just smirking, proud of the mess he’s created, Nick sore and sensitive as Ethan plays with him a little, whimpering as he feels some come drip out. Ethan laughs at Nick's embarrassment, leaning over and scrambling around some bedside drawers. Nick gasps as he feels coolness on his ass, Ethan clearly wiping him clean.
Ethan flips back down next to Nick, Nick still curled into the pillow, not shy but very aware of his sweaty, exhausted, fucked-out look. Ethan runs his fingers through red hair, not tugging this time, and he leans in, kissing Nick in a way that betrays his previous rough and ready treatment. Nick responds softly, kissing back.
“You ruined me,” Nick gasps, still numb, and Ethan stifles a giggle, “you ruined me,” he retorts. They lie like this for a few precious minutes, Ethan still excited as he sits up, ruffling his hair before he fishes around for something, Nick half watching out of the corner of his eye when he sees Ethan hold out Nick’s phone like he’s won a prize.
“Unlock it,” Ethan says, handing it to Nick, who does it without question. Ethan scrolls, finding the groupchat
The chat after Ethan sent a photo of himself went into a frenzy, a long conversation between his two friends going about how hot he is.
Ethan giggles at it, and Nick thinks he’s quite beautiful, pretty brown eyes and that sinful mouth and a tongue that Nick wants to feel a thousand times more.
Nick frowns as Ethan types, lazily trying to grab it back but missing entirely.
“What are you typing? Ethan?”
“I’m saying… ‘he’s just been balls deep inside me’,” Ethan cackles, and Nick shoots up at that, grabbing his phone, seeing the exact words sent by ‘Nick’ in the chat.
“Fuck!” he says, “Ethan!”
He settles back down, cringing as he sees the messages from Ethan's first text fly in, making Ethan laugh loudly and Nick cringe but smile all the same.

Tara: HOLY FUCKKKK
Larray: u little SLUT
Larray: how big is he?
Tara: NICK FINALLY GOT DICK GUYS IM SO PROUD OF HIMM 😭😭😭
Larray: ANSWER ME RN
Ethan snatches it back, taking Nick by surprised then takes a snap of them, Nick hiding half his face under the duvet, Ethan looking far too pleased with himself.
“You look so cute,” Ethan says, and Nick’s stomach summersaults again, watching Ethan send the picture, waiting for the instant replies.
His phone pinged constantly after the photo was sent, Nick can imagine what kinds of debauchery his two friends are yapping about the situation.
“Your friends are funny,” Ethan laughs, putting the phone aside, and Nick is over his initial embarrassment, especially as Ethan cuddles into him, letting Nick rest in the crook of his neck. He feels Ethan’s arm around him and kisses into his hair so he sneaks an arm around the other, hugging his waist close, enjoying the feel of a smile against his forehead.
“They got me laid, so, yeah, they’re ok,” Nick says into Ethan’s chest, Ethan playing with his hair as he mutters, “they got you completely fucked – ruined – I think you said.”
“Shit, let it go,” Nick teases.
“You’ve had better, baby?” Ethan checks, and Nick wants to lie, to tease, to flirt, but he has no energy and it’s preposterous to think he's had better than this. The sex was magnificent, electric, and Nick is still buzzing from it, wondering if he’ll ever come down from it.
“No,” he says shyly, honestly, “you?”
“No, shit. I thought so, but you were something else,” Ethan praises, and Nick preens under his compliments and praise, flushing from pride rather than embarrassment this time around.
“You’re gonna stay, yeah?” Ethan asks, and Nick assumed he was. It feels natural, being here, like this, with Ethan. Nick nods into Ethan’s chest, and Ethan hugs him tighter, promising they’ll chill and order food later, Nick can stay and they’ll watch films.
“Maybe you can make good on your word later,” Ethan growls, “and ride me, bounce on my dick, huh?”
“I can’t even think about any physical activity right now,” Nick sighs dramatically, Ethan tickling his ear. Nick has his eyes closed but he can feel Ethan’s huge, beautiful smile, the visual of it imprinted in his brain. He’s already thinking about it though, climbing on top of Ethan and sitting back on his dick, rolling his hips.
“Okay, sweetheart,” Ethan said, and Nick snuggles into him, making a mental note to thank his friends when he next sees them. He’s sore but satisfied. All he needs is a nap, some food, and then he thinks he’ll enjoy showing Ethan exactly how good he is.

Fall has never been Chan’s favorite season. The weather cools down, but it’s in this weird in-between. One day, it’s cold enough for heavy jackets, and the next it’s almost warm enough to wear shorts. It starts to get dark too early as the days get shorter, which makes it feel like there’s just less time in the day. Or, even worse, there are days when Chan leaves the apartment in the dark and returns in the dark. Everything feels like it’s dying with the leaves falling. It seems like it should be a season of thankfulness and friends and holidays, but it just ends up feeling like an ending in a bad way. He’s not cynical, he’s just not really sure he likes this time of year.
“I wish I had someone to do fall things with me,” you announce to nobody in particular.
Okay, well maybe Chan needs to rethink this whole opinion on the season. Because here’s the other thing, he’s always been drawn to you. Sure, you’re his friend. It’s just, he’s always been closer to your brother, Jay. Always a little envious, too. You and Jay are friends as much as siblings, despite you being two years older. So much so that your friend group is somewhat merged. Chan knows that Jay has friends you don’t hang around with and that the same goes for you. It’s still nice, though. Seeing the two of you, he understands what it means to love family and also like them.
Yet in all those years of friendship, Chan can still remember the moment when he started seeing you differently. You’d called Jay late one night, no text or anything, and Jay picked up right away because it was so unlike you. It was your first real breakup, a guy you met and started dating in college, the only time you and Jay had been really separated. Even if the separation was only a two hour drive. You were so devastated that Jay switched to a video call and convinced you to come home for the weekend. All Chan can remember is how much he wanted to protect you from ever feeling that way again. He knew you didn’t deserve the way that guy made you feel. Then, the new school year came around, and he and Jay were on campus with you. The draw has only gotten stronger since then.
“Isn’t that what you have a boyfriend for?” Jay asks.
You roll your eyes affectionately. “He doesn’t really like the fall. Plus, he’s super busy with work projects. He doesn’t want to go pick apples or adventuring or any of that stuff.”
The way you play it off feels casual, like it doesn’t actually matter. Your eyes tell a different story. Chan’s heart breaks a little as he does everything he can to not show it. Jay, unfortunately for you, also notices.
“Is everything okay with…shit, what’s his name?” Jay asks.
“Come on, Jay, they hard launched like 6 months ago, shouldn’t you know his name by now?” Lisa, ever the best friend to you, chimes in.
“Ease up, Lisa,” you say, voice a little tired. “Things with Seungsik are fine, he’s just busy right now.”
“Hey,” Jay starts.
“We can always do fall stuff with you,” Chan hears himself offer without even realizing he’s saying anything. Several pairs of eyes shoot to him.
“Bro, you hate fall shit,” Vernon scoffs.
“I do not,” Chan retorts.
“Since when? I had to twist your arm for Friendsgiving last year,” Jay counters.
“That is true,” Lisa agrees.
“No you too,” Chan directs at Lisa.
“That’s really sweet, Channie,” you cut across the bickering. It takes everything in him to remain neutral at your compliment and the use of a nickname. “Maybe we can do some stuff as a group. I feel like Fall is the time for friends anyway.”
There’s a smattering of agreement, names thrown out of other friends that aren’t there, lighthearted eye rolls at how into this season you are, and more than a glance or two in Chan’s direction. He does his best to ignore those. He doesn’t need to think about them right now. All he can really focus on is that he agreed to get up insanely early on Sunday morning so that you could take this train ride that you’ve wanted to do in the Fall to see all the trees changing colors. Especially since the colors are more vibrant this year. Which is fine. Chan doesn’t really mind being up early, but nobody else is committing to go. Not even your brother. The fact that you seem unbothered at it being just you and him makes Chan’s stomach flip.
Tumblr media
Chan is nervous when it comes time to leave for the train ride. You offered to pick him up since you were dragging him out of the warmth of his bed so early in the morning and even said he didn’t have to go through with it. Which meant you probably wouldn’t go through with it because the two other people that had tentatively agreed backed out the night before. Even over text, Chan could tell that you were disappointed at the thought of not going. And even he had to admit that he was curious about the draw of this particular activity. So off you went.
It only takes one day for Chan to start changing his opinion on the season. Or, one person. There’s something about the way your face lights up the second you’re on the train that takes him over as well. You’re more excited, still, that the train doesn’t seem that crowded, so the two of you will have your own little area to sit in without anyone else that close by. Sheepishly, you admit that the train runs multiple times a day, but this gives you the most time at the top of the mountain. Taking advantage of how rare it is to spend time alone with you, Chan asks you what exactly it is that you love about Fall. Maybe if he hears from someone who loves it, he’ll see it differently.
He watches as your face transforms. Your eyes get wide, and a genuine smile spreads across your face, gone just long enough to ask if he’s sure. All Chan can do is laugh because it’s so endearing. But he nods, and you’re like a kid at Christmas. You start with the leaves as the train pulls away from the station. There’s more to them than just changing color and falling to the ground, at least to you. Yes, they’re pretty, like shades of gold fluttering along with the wind and bringing good fortune. You liken it to growth in a way Chan never considered. Sure, the leaves are changing color and dying. It’s also about growth and release. Trees need to let go of their leaves so they can go into their next phase. So they can be ready to grow new leaves and new life in the spring. You don’t get that without the release in the Fall.
You like the way things taste fresher, too. The way apples feel crisper because it’s when they were meant to be enjoyed. The way vanilla and cinnamon just warm your soul with everything they’re baked into. You love the comfort, like a warm blanket, of just being able to bake so many things. When Chan points out that you bake all year around, you get that playful smile again. You agree and disagree at the same time. You can bake all year round, but certain things were just meant for when the weather starts to get colder.
Most of all, you really just feel like it’s a positive change. Of learning to let go of all the things that are holding you back. Of cutting out those parts of life that feel dead or stagnant. Of starting the process to allow new things to grow. Chan doesn’t mention that maybe you’re not as good at that part as you want to think. He can tell you want to be, but he wonders if you realize there’s someone in your life who really isn’t adding anything to it anymore. He doesn’t mention Seungsik and neither do you.
When you get to the top and step off the train, Chan gasps at the sight. He’s never really stopped to appreciate nature like this and it’s overwhelming in the best way. It makes him feel kind of small, except it’s not a bad feeling, and he’s really glad that you suggested taking the early train because it means the top of the mountain isn’t crowded. He’s so busy taking in the clear views that go on for miles that he doesn’t even notice the way your face lights up watching his reaction. He can’t possibly know how full your heart is at him being so present.
“This is beautiful,” he whispers. It seems like a crime to disrupt the peace.
“Yeah, it is,” you agree. There’s something in the way you say it that makes Chan look over at you. By the time he looks, though, your eyes are on the horizon as well.
“Have you done this before? I don’t feel like I remember Jay talking about it at all,” Chan asks, still watching you.
You stiffen for a second in a way that’s entirely at odds with the mention of your brother. Or maybe your mind is a million miles away. That’s another thing that Chan’s always found so interesting about you. There’s a brightness and a lightness about you, but there’s also a sense of mystery. LIke there are parts of yourself that you always hold back. Like you want to appear to be entirely open, even though you’re not. Like there are secret parts that only your closest relationships get to know.
“Jay wouldn’t have,” you finally answer with a smile. “Our grandparents brought me when we were both still little. But Jay wasn’t interested, so he stayed with our parents. I’ve wanted to do it again as an adult, but you know, life happens.”
“Anyone who cares about you would want to see this,” Chan admits as he looks out at the views again.
It’s too honest, and Chan knows it, but there’s just something about this kind of environment that makes him want to admit things he shouldn’t. Or wouldn’t, normally. There’s something like anonymity surrounded by this much nature. It reminds you just how small people are in comparison. He’s also thankful that you seem to be agreeing that you can say those unspoken things here. That is, until he feels your hand on his arm, turning him to look at you.
“Thank you, Chan,” you say with more sincerity than he’s ever heard in all the time he’s known you. “I care about you, too.”
“I, um,” Chan starts and clears his throat. “You’re welcome.”
“We’ve never hung out like this, just the two of us,” you say, still watching him.
“No, we haven’t,” Chan agrees because it’s all he can do to hold onto his rapidly slipping composure.
“I was…okay, this is gonna sound dumb, but I was a little nervous. That’s why I tried to give you an out,” you say. Your voice is soft and you look down at your feet. Like it’s too much to admit while looking at Chan and when it’s so quiet all around you.
“I almost took it,” Chan tells you.
“Why didn’t you? Weren’t you worried?” you wonder.
Chan shrugs to buy himself a second. “Because it was important to you. I figured it was better to roll the dice and risk it being a little awkward so you didn’t miss out.”
You turn away, but Chan catches the look on your face anyway. Catches the way you take a steadying breath. Can’t miss the way you try to hide as you wipe away a tear. The last thing he wanted to do was make you upset. And even though his heart is racing, he pulls you into a hug. He’s not sure what else to do except whisper sorries against your hair.
“No, no, no,” you finally say. “You don’t need to be sorry.”
“I made you cry,” Chan disagrees.
“No, you didn’t. It’s just so insanely sweet that I was overwhelmed for a minute,” you tell him.
“Guess it was awkward after all,” Chan says. It’s a little self-deprecating.
“No, it wasn’t,” you assure him. “This is so much more than I could have asked for. I’m just, I guess I’m not really used to people doing things like this for me.”
Chan is thankful he’s not holding you anymore because there’s no way to hide the way his heart tries to beat out of his chest. All he can do is smile and hope that you can’t read his thoughts because they’re a weird mix. His heart is full that you’re so appreciative of something that seems so small. Sure, life is short, and there are only so many days. But it’s also too short to pass up on opportunities to see something different like this. To actually stop and experience the world around you instead of just rushing to the next day. His heart also breaks at the idea of you not being used to people doing things like this for you. Because it seems so small. It doesn’t seem like some huge thing to do. Chan and Jay have been friends for more than 10 years, so he’s known you for a long time. He knows that you don’t have the best taste in partners. Still, though. He can’t imagine something so small being so impactful to you.
The two of you mostly stick close together, or at least within eyesight of each other. There’s so much to see at the top of the mountain. Little signs seem to ring around the edges, telling people what they’re looking at or giving a history. Each one makes Chan appreciate the views even more. Every once in a while, he also catches you watching him and smiling, like you’re still checking that he’s enjoying himself. He can’t say that, of course, he’s enjoying himself, he’s with you, but he tries to smile back every time.
Eventually, you suggest having lunch at the restaurant next to the little station where the train stops. He’s been so busy taking in his surroundings that he doesn’t even realize that he’s hungry. Right on queue, his stomach grumbles at the mention of food, and you laugh it off. Once you’re sitting down, you can’t seem to settle on one thing for lunch. Without thinking, Chan suggests that you just share a few different things so you can try what you want. Who knows when you’ll be back up here again? Although you seem hesitant at first, a little reassurance from Chan goes a long way. That and him insisting he’ll be happy with whatever you order.
It’s truly an entirely perfect day, one neither of you really wants to end, even if you won’t admit it to the other. But you have to take the train down eventually and come back to reality.
Tumblr media
“Sorry I have to take this,” you say with a frown at your phone.
Chan thinks it says Seungsik, which makes him frown, too. It takes a real effort for him not to follow you out of the room with his eyes. Not that Jay, Seokmin, or Jiyeon would notice. They’re currently locked in a Mario Kart battle, with Jiyeon winning yet again. Chan risks a glance in your direction and makes a snap decision.
“Do you guys want anything from the kitchen?” Chan asks.
“Yeah, something to drink,” Seokmin says.
“Is losing making you thirsty?” Jiyeon teases.
“You can’t win forever, Ji,” Jay shoots back. “Come on, Seok, we can work together on this.”
“That’s cheating,” Jiyeon giggles.
Chan ignores the banter to go to the kitchen. Ostensibly, he’s actually planning to get drinks for the group in the living room. Realistically, he’s curious about what’s making you frown and if you’re okay. From his spot in the kitchen, he can hear your voice drifting through the door of Jay’s bedroom. It’s hard to focus on getting drinks.
“I understand that your work is important, but,” you start, working to stay quiet despite the annoyance in your voice.
Maybe this was a bad idea because he wishes he could hear the other side. Or at least know for sure that it was Seungsik.
“Yes, I’m aware that you think it’s just a stupid Fall tradition,” you huff. “No, baby, I’m not saying your work doesn’t matter. It’s the weekend, though.”
Well, at least he knows that it’s Seungsik. Not that it makes it any better.
“That’s not fair, baby. I’m not saying that I don’t want you to work hard or try to get that promotion. You know how much I support you. It’s just I want to matter too,” you say, and Chan’s heart fully breaks at the heartbreak in your voice.
What is wrong with this man that he can’t take a second away from work to spend time with one of the most beautiful people in the world?
“I feel like I’ve barely seen you in weeks. You’re always working or networking and…” you trail off. “No, I do get that networking is part of the job, and you’re up for a promotion…Wow, yes, I do get how hard your job is. But do you get that you keep making promises to me and breaking them?”
There’s a bite to your voice that’s entirely foreign to Chan. It’s also at complete odds with the undercurrent of defeat. There are two sides warring during this conversation, and Chan doesn’t really recognize either of them.
“It’s not just some stupid fall tradition,” you say. It’s without any bite now. You’re defeated. “It’s…yeah, I get it. You think it’s dumb. It’s fine, I understand you won’t be coming.”
It feels like the conversation is probably ending, so Chan turns his back away from the bedroom to focus on drinks. All he can do is hope that nothing about his posture gives him away. But he can’t help listening anyway, and he hears you ending the phone call before shuffling towards the kitchen all the same.
“Oh,” you nearly gasp.
As casually as he can manage, Chan turns around towards your voice with a bag of chips in one hand. That plan goes out the window when he sees you rubbing your eyes. All he wants is to be able to protect you from the world. Because you deserve better. Not that he thinks he’s better. He just knows you deserve more than this. More than being unhappy every time he sees you.
“Hey, are you okay?” Chan asks. He meant to ask if you wanted anything to drink, yet couldn’t ignore your frown.
“How long have you been in here?” you ask.
Chan shrugs. “Not long, just came to get them some drinks and figured I’d grab chips. Do you want anything?”
“That’s a loaded question,” you say under your breath.
“You okay?” Chan asks again. He knows you’re not, but he doesn’t really want to admit that he was listening to your side of the conversation.
“Can I…ugh, this is so weird, but can I just have a hug?” Your eyes are a little wide and a whole lot vulnerable.
It’s silly, but he would give you anything if it meant that you wouldn’t look broken. No, that’s the wrong word. There’s nothing wrong with being a little broken. It’s just that he wishes Seungsik wasn’t letting you down time after time. Chan sets down the chips and opens his arms without a word. There’s relief on your face as you step forward and wrap your arms around his middle. Your head rests on his shoulder and he feels the moment that your body releases the tension. Feels the moment when your breathing relaxes to match his own. When you step away, your eyes at least look a little happier.
“It’s never weird to ask for a hug from a friend,” Chan tells you.
You laugh at that, a real laugh, and for a second, Chan wonders why. “You seem to be getting a lot of my emotional side lately.”
Chan just shrugs again. “I’m happy to see whatever side you wanna show me.”
Just then, Jay comes into the kitchen, grumbling about losing another game. He doesn’t even look at Chan or you before going to grab the drinks on the counter. It’s probably the perfect timing so that Chan doesn’t say anything else that’s too honest.
“I thought you were leaving,” Jay says to you.
“Wow, trying to get rid of me already?” you ask without any of the normal teasing Jay is used to.
“Of course not. I just thought you were going apple picking with Seungsik,” Jay answers.
It’s then that he seems to really look at you and realizes something is wrong. He looks like he’s about to take back his words when you open your mouth. “No, he’s too busy with something for work. So I’ll probably just stick around here.”
Chan looks at your brother and hopes he picks up the same wavelength. It seems he does because he sighs in resignation. But it’s a mark of how concerned he is that he doesn’t mention Seungsik being a dick for this. “Why don’t we go with you?”
“What?” you ask.
“Hey,” Jay calls into the living room. “Who wants to go apple picking?”
“I’m in, beating you and Seokmin is getting boring,” Jiyeon answers.
“You haven’t won every one,” Seokmin whines.
“You don’t have to do this,” you say softly to your brother.
“Oh, are we going with you?” Jiyeon asks. “I’m in. Can I call Vernon and drag him along?”
“We should ask Lisa if she wants to come too. She loves that stuff,” Seokmin suggests. “I haven’t actually gone apple picking in forever.”
“It’s a lost cause,” Chan tells you, “we’re all going apple picking now.”
“Fine,” you pretend to sigh, “but can I ride with you? Jay’s a shitty driver.”
“I resent that,” Jay scoffs.
Tumblr media
It takes a little time to let everyone know where to meet, but Jay manages to wrangle the group well enough so that they all make it to the orchard. True to your word, you ride with Chan. Jay and Jiyeon go to pick up Vernon, and Seokmin goes to pick up Lisa and Mina. Once everyone is there and the bags are bought, groups start to wander off in different directions to look for the best apples. Because, of course, Jiyeon has turned this into a competition and is convinced she can make the best apple pie. Chan knew by the sparkle in your eye that you weren’t going to just settle for that one.
“You’re on,” you say and shake on it.
“Well, this is interesting,” Jay notes.
“Come on, Jay, you’re on my team,” Jiyeon says and grabs his arm.
“Uh, hello, that’s my brother,” you argue.
“Yeah, and he’s tall, better for reaching the perfect apple,” Jiyeon says with a shrug. “Snooze, you lose.”
“If you’re that worried about the perfect apples up high, I’ve already won,” you reason before turning to Chan. “Come on, Chan, you’re with me.”
He doesn’t even hesitate for a minute, which would probably be a little embarrassing if he wasn’t actually looking forward to the afternoon. It seems you have a plan, and all he really has to do is follow along. It’s not like it’s the first time he’s been alone with you, either. Any awkwardness left with the train ride.
There’s more to picking apples than just picking the first ones you see, as Chan quickly finds out. You consult the little flyer about which ones are in season and start talking about which types of apples make the best pies. Which are the best for tarts. Which are the best for a bunch of desserts that he’s never heard of. It goes way over his head when you’re talking about the different flavors of apples and which goes best with cinnamon and nutmeg and all the flavors that remind you of the Fall. He’s always known that you loved to bake, but there's something different about seeing it in action like this. And you’re not even actually cooking.
Despite your insistence about the height of apples, you do come across some trees where the lower ones all look bad, even by Chan’s standards. When there’s a ladder around, he offers to climb up it so that you can have the perfect apple. It seems to make you smile every time. The system works pretty well until you come to a tree with the perfect apples and no ladder in sight. In hindsight, it’ll definitely seem stupid. That he helps you fixate on something so small as the perfect apple. Yet, at the moment, it makes perfect sense.
“Here, climb on my shoulders,” Chan offers and bends down.
“No, it’s really okay,” you say, waving him off.
“If you want the apples, then let’s get you the apples,” Chan insists.
“I’m too heavy,” you protest.
“You’re not,” Chan promises.
“You’re not going to drop me, are you?” you worry.
“Never,” Chan assures you.
He stays crouched down to allow you to climb onto his shoulders. Once you hook your legs around his back and he grabs your knees, he stands up, very thankful that he’s never skipped leg day. What he’s not counting on, or prepared for, is your surprise. Because in that surprise,  your thighs squeeze either side of his face. He’s sure it’s an involuntary action. He’s sure you don’t even realize you’re doing it. Yet it makes him swallow hard all the same. As soon as he steadies himself (mentally, that is, because physically he’s fine), he steps towards the tree. On his shoulders, you’re easily tall enough to reach the apples you wanted in the first place.
“Thank you,” you say softly when he lets you back down.
“No problem,” Chan says, ignoring the slight dryness in his throat.
Apparently, taking the perfect pictures in the orchard is just as important as picking the apples. Chan does roll his eyes about that a little bit but agrees to be your photographer anyway. It’s the same thing all over again. Your face lights up at having someone to do all these things with and he’s putty in your hands. It’s impossible to say no. There’s a moment where he can tell that you’re a little upset that your boyfriend isn’t there to take pictures with you. Obviously, part of the whole thing should involve him in your perfect world. Yet he’s not the one that’s here. Instead, Chan offers to take a picture of the two of you and then take some with your other friends when you meet back up.
The group also has to decide just how to judge this baking contest. The only rules that you and Jiyeon agree to is that it has to be something baked and it has to use the apples. Beyond that, it’s up to whoever wants to participate just what they make. It’s not usually Seokmin’s thing, but he offers to help Mina bake and, since neither of them are that good, you and Jiyeon allow it.
“Why don’t we get together next weekend and do something else?” Vernon suggests.
“Like what?” Jay asks.
“Pumpkin carving!” you shout out.
“You know what? That actually sounds fun, and we haven’t done it in years,” Jay says.
“Yeah, we always used to have the best pumpkins as kids,” you agree.
“They were pretty cool,” Chan agrees.
“So pumpkins and whatever baked apple thing to see who wins?” Vernon asks.
Everyone agrees, and Chan can’t help but look to you. Anything you might have been feeling over your boyfriend missing yet another Fall activity that matters to you is forgotten. Or you’re doing a very good job at hiding it. All your face shows is happiness. It’s kind of infectious.
Tumblr media
It doesn’t get much more stereotypically Fall than going to the pumpkin patch and taking pictures. Really, it’s pretty cliche. Yet, you seem unfazed by the entire prospect. You’re layered up, just like everyone else, to fight off the crispness of the air. Unlike everyone else, your face lights up when you pull up to the orchard, a different one than where you picked the apples. There are rows upon rows of pumpkins, all waiting to go to the perfect homes. You’re out of the car and off to walk through the rows before anyone else, and you don’t seem to have a care in the world.
There’s an art, Chan learns, to picking the best pumpkin. It all depends on what exactly someone wants to carve. Too small, and it feels crowded, too big and the face gets swallowed. Unless you make everything bigger, which is always an option. That gets a chuckle out of Vernon and a smack to his arm from Lisa. Lisa, always entirely honest, is really just in it for the pictures and then for whatever baked goods they get to taste test later. She’s happy to carve a pumpkin too, but she wants to use a stencil. And fully admits that she’ll probably get bored halfway through.
Almost unconsciously, or maybe by habit at this point, Chan finds himself wandering through the rows with you. Every now and then, you pause to consider a pumpkin before moving on. There’s so much concentration on the task, and he can’t help but to wonder if you’re just excited or if you’re also avoiding thinking about other things.
“What are you looking for?” Chan finally asks.
You turn and regard him for a second, evidently deciding that he’s just curious rather than judgmental. “Okay, don’t think it’s lame…”
“Why would I?” he asks honestly.
“I sort of have a couple ideas for what I want to carve,” you admit. “Do you, is it okay if I show you?”
“Yeah, of course,” comes Chan’s immediate reply.
There’s that smile again, the one that lights up your whole face like this is the best day that you can imagine.  You pull your phone out of your pocket and open your photos. It’s hard to miss that all the recent images are from the things you’ve done as a group or screenshots or things saved from random searches. There aren’t any recent ones, as you quickly scroll, with you and Seungsik. His attention is pulled back to the task at hand when you show him a couple of different carving ideas you have.
“Which one do you like best?” you ask after showing him several.
“It’s hard to pick. Honestly, I think you should get a couple of pumpkins,” Chan answers.
That actually seems to make you happier as you pluck one from nearby that’s apparently perfect for at least one of your ideas. Chan offers to hold it for you as the two of you carry on in finding just the right pumpkins. It’s interesting, especially having picked apples with you, that you spend so much more care in this. You explain that some of the pumpkins don’t have the best sides so they don’t look as good when you carve them. They’re good for displaying as is or good to back with, but you want the prettiest pumpkins if you’re carving something.
Well, he can’t really argue with that.
Once you’re all back at his and Jay’s apartment, everyone splits off in different directions. You and Jiyeon immediately go to bring out your apple desserts. Chan’s a little surprised, still, that Seokmin and Mina actually made something together. But it all looks good, and he’s kind of hungry. Lisa, who suggested ordering actual food, manages to get the bags inside with Vernon’s help. The two of them get to work setting all the food out on the counter for people to start getting plates. Chan starts pulling out plates and glasses for everyone. Jay clears off their little dining table, which isn’t big enough for everyone, as well as the coffee table. It’s not like this is anything formal anyway.
Even though you and Jiyeon want to start with the desserts, Mina manages to convince you to have actual food first. Then, as everyone is carving, they can start trying whatever looks best to them. You reluctantly agree from your spot on the floor. There’s plenty of space to sit on the couch, but instead, you sit on the floor, right next to Chan’s legs, occasionally brushing against him as you move. It’s a little harder for him to watch you without being so obvious and just as hard to ignore your presence. There’s a vibrance to you again, like everything in your world is right. Like nothing could possibly be missing. It doesn’t escape his notice that you don’t mention Seungsik; don’t seem to be missing him during this activity. It’s not like apple picking where he bailed. He was never part of these plans. Maybe that’s the key, or maybe you’re realizing that doing all of this with friends can be just as fun. Whatever the reason, Chan wants you to keep smiling like this.
After protesting, sitting on the floor to eat, Chan has to agree that sitting on the floor to carve pumpkins makes the most sense. It’s easier when you’re not bending over to the coffee table level. It also gives him more space. Like Lisa, he’s using a stencil that he printed out. He wants it to be perfect, and he’s not sure he could do it freehand.
“Okay, I want dessert. Who’s going to tell me what’s what?” Vernon announces.
You’re up before anyone can say anything to grab your desserts. Plural. “Okay, so I made two…”
“Which is cheating,” Jiyeon interjects.
“Is not,” you reply and stick your tongue out at her. You open each container. “These are just apple fritters and these are salted caramel apple bars.”
“Tell me you did not make caramel from scratch, too,” Jiyeon whines.
“It’s so easy, of course I did,” you retort.
“Ugh, of course,” Jiyeon groans. “Anyway, I made apple-pomegranate cobbler.”
“Which looks amazing,” you compliment, causing Jiyeon to beam.
“And since we knew these two would go totally over the top, we just made plain old apple pie,” Mina says.
“Hey, we worked hard, don’t undersell it,” Seokmin points out.
“I’m sure it’s great, Seok,” Lisa says to pacify him.
“I’m going to eat it all,” Vernon announces.
He goes to get a plate and, true to his word, puts some of everything on it. You carry on carving and wave off Chan’s offer to get you something. It’s hard not to play favorites, but he also doesn’t want some of everything. At least not yet. So he grabs one of the salted caramel apple bars that you made and some of Jiyeon’s dessert. Things get quiet again as everyone is either enjoying the dessert or focusing on their pumpkins.
Despite Vernon taking a break to eat as much dessert as he could stomach, he does get back to working on his pumpkin and it’s annoying how good it looks. He went in without a plan and his pumpkin is one of the best. Chan thinks his could probably be a lot better, but he’s also happy with it. As predicted, Lisa abandoned hers halfway through and has been picking music to play ever since. It’s kind of nice, though, to have her doing that. It makes the whole afternoon into the evening pass by in the best way.
Chan should probably think of new words, but this is another one of those days that just feels like the best of the season. Everyone is together and happy. Nobody is fighting, unless it’s you and Jiyeon playfully arguing when your apple bars win as the best dessert. It’s fine to be in your feelings, and Chan meant it when he said he would be happy with whatever side you wanted to show him. It’s also important to have the lighter days. The easy days. The ones that make weathering the storm a little more manageable. It’s clear there’s definitely still a storm, and he’s thankful for the little breaks like this.
However, as it turns to night, everyone starts to filter out of the apartment. Seokmin, Mina, and Lisa want to go out to the bar and ask if anyone else wants to come. Jiyeon and Vernon already planned to go out to dinner. They’re still in that phase where they want to act like they’re not dating, even though they definitely are, and everyone is happy for them. Jay’s been talking to someone off some dating app that he wants to go hang out with. That just leaves you and Chan.
“I’m actually kinda tired, so I think I might just stay in,” Chan tells Seokmin when he asks again if either of you wants to come to the bar with them.
“I don’t really feel like going out,” you admit before looking at Chan. “Do you mind if I stay here with you?”
“Course not,” Chan answers, ignoring the look he knows Jay is giving the two of you. Your brother’s never really been good at being subtle.
“Lame, but I get it,” Lisa says with a shrug.  Everyone but Jay filters out for their plans and he disappears into his bedroom to get ready. Chan gets up to start cleaning up and putting everything away.
“You don’t need to help. You’re a guest,” Chan tells you when you join in on the cleaning.
“Wow, a guest? And here I thought we were friends,” you scoff.
Chan shakes his head. “You know what I mean.”
“I figure if I help then I can rope you into watching a movie with me,” you answer.
“Fine,” Chan says, pretending to be put out.
Truthfully, he’s going to agree to whatever you want to do. You could say that you wanted to learn a new language and Chan would probably at least give it a try. Down horrifically bad. Yet, he’s too caught up in thinking about hanging out with you again that he doesn’t see the way you look over at him every few minutes. Misses the way your gaze softens at how much care he uses in moving the pumpkins. Misses the way your eyes rake over him as if you’re seeing him for the first time. He’s so caught up in his own thoughts that he doesn’t realize things are starting to shift for you as well.
Instead, the two of you finish cleaning up mostly in silence and are settling onto the couch by the time Jay reemerges. Convenient timing given that he doesn’t have to even make up an excuse about why he can’t help. You’re quick to call him on it and he’s just as quick to brush it off as he runs out the door. It leaves you and Chan on your own for the night. So you pick the place for take away and Chan picks the first movie. Just like that, you settle in for the night.

++++++++++++++++++++
Not long after returning from Ireland, the winter term for school started up again. Stacy actually left town for a bit, going on a birthday trip with her family. When she got back, the guys all gave her various birthday presents during lunch period. Chase got her a case for her glasses, on Mom’s advice, while Schneep got her a fancy glitter pen and JJ and Marvin gave her a pair of books. Jackie got her a bookbag with some characters on them. Chase had never heard of ‘Bratz’ before but Stacy seemed to love it.
Between Stacy’s vacation and the new round of schoolwork, the group didn’t have much time to get together and discuss what they’d learned about Anti and Jack. Though... Chase wasn’t sure there was much to talk about. Anti was Jack’s imaginary friend, and Jack’s family seemed weirdly involved with all the weird stuff happening around town. What else could they talk about? Besides... he wasn’t sure he wanted a big group talk. Not while JJ was still avoiding him.
Well... “avoiding” him wasn’t exactly right. JJ was still sitting with the rest of the group during lunch, and if Marvin came over to play video games, JJ would come with him. But... he was even quieter than usual. He only really spoke when someone else talked to him, or when Marvin tried to pull him into the conversation. And Chase could have sworn that JJ never looked directly at him. Chase wanted to give him some space, but also... he couldn’t live with this silence between them.
And so, about two weeks into the start of the new school term, Chase decided to do something about it. But he wasn’t sure what. This whole thing was very confusing to him... and made him feel bad. So, he went to get some advice.
Chase slowly opened the door to Mom’s room. “Um... Mom? Are you busy?”
“Hmm?” Mom was sitting at the desk in the corner of her room. She looked over at Chase as he opened the door, her expression immediately drawing close with worry. “Is something wrong, sweets?”
“I, uh... I-I think I messed up... with something.”
“Is something broken?”
“No no, nothing’s broken! I just, uh... i-it’s friend stuff. I...” He blinked furiously, eyes stinging with tears. “I think... JJ doesn’t like me a-anymore.”
“Oh, Chase.” Mom sighed. “Give me one minute, okay? You can hang out in here for a minute, right?”
Chase nodded. He walked over to Mom’s bed and climbed on top of it, sitting with his legs crossed. He picked at the threads of the comforter as he waited for Mom to finish. He had butterflies in his stomach. Sharp, jumpy butterflies, that just got more and more freaked out as he sat there, bringing tears to his eyes.
Then, Mom was finished. She closed out of whatever program she was using and walked over, sitting next to Chase on the bed. “Now, Chase. I’m sure JJ still likes you. But why would you think he wouldn’t?”
“I-I...” Chase took a shaky breath. He couldn’t explain all the doll stuff to Mom, but he could probably explain the whole situation without that. “JJ’s been r-really pressured a-and stuff lately, and I kept... I kept doing stuff that he didn’t want me to... He told me he didn’t want me to do that, and I tried, I really tried to not do the stuff, but he still got angry with me, a-and said that I didn’t get what he was going through, and I wasn’t trying hard enough... B-but I think I was trying, I think I really was trying!”
Mom blinked. “JJ got angry at you? That doesn’t seem like him.”
“I-I thought that too. JJ doesn’t get angry ever!”
“Whoa, okay, I didn’t say that,” Mom corrected. “Everyone gets angry. Maybe you don’t see it, but everyone gets angry. JJ’s a quiet kid, so you probably don’t know when he gets upset, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get upset at all.”
“Well... I-I know that,” Chase mumbled. “I just... if he’s not gonna tell me when he’s mad, I’m just gonna keep doing the same thing, right?”
“If JJ can’t tell you, then that’s something he should work on,” Mom said slowly. “But you just said that he did tell you. You knew about the problems he had and the things you weren’t supposed to do, right?”
“Yeah... A-and I really tried not to do any of it! But it’s just...” Chase gestured vaguely. “I-I don’t know. It wasn’t enough, I guess.”
“Hm.” Mom paused, thinking. “Alright. Let’s take this one step at a time. Could you have tried more to avoid the upsetting things?”
Chase thought about it. He didn’t give JJ orders on purpose. But he did give him a lot of accidental ones. And... no one else in the group did, right? Maybe... one or two, but... he definitely did it the most. “I... guess... Everyone else was doing it.”
“We’re not talking about everyone else, we’re talking about you. Do you really think you could have done better, or do you think you were trying your best?”
“I mean... I was doing my best, I just...” Chase trailed off. Was he really trying to avoid giving JJ orders? Maybe not. After all, he tried harder for other stuff. Like, Schneep didn’t want him to call him ‘Schneep’ around adults, so Chase always made sure to call him ‘Henrik’ when parents or teachers were around. He always thought about his words very carefully... But comparing that to how he thought about his words around JJ, he wasn’t being nearly as cautious. “Maybe... I could’ve done better.” He ducked his head, ashamed to say it out loud.
Mom nodded. “It’s good that you can realize that. Now that you know that, why do you think you didn’t try your best?”
“Uh... I dunno.” Chase shook his head.
“Can you try to think about it?”
“I am, I just... I don’t know.” Why wouldn’t he try his best to help JJ out? Did he not... like him as much? No, that can’t be it. JJ’s great! Even if Chase didn’t have a lot in common with him, he was still smart and funny and very brave.
Mom tilted her head. “Maybe... it didn’t seem like it was a big deal? Maybe that’s what you were thinking?”
“Maybe... I mean, uh... they weren’t really... I-I didn’t say mean things to him or anything. I just...“ Chase trailed off.
“They were... small things,” Mom said. “Things that wouldn’t hurt him.”
“Yeah!” Chase nodded.
“Well... they must have hurt him after all, right?” Mom asked quietly.
Chase deflated. “Yeah... I-I didn’t mean to, though. I just... Maybe I didn’t really... get it... Th-that’s what JJ said. That I didn’t really get it.” He shook his head. “It just—they didn’t do much! They were just... little things.”
“Little things can still hurt, Chase,” Mom explained. “Sometimes more than the big things. You know what they say. There’s a straw that breaks the camel’s back.”
Chase paused. “I’ve heard that, but I don’t... really get what that means.”
“Oh. Well, imagine you have a camel who’s carrying a bunch of stuff on its back, for a big trip across the desert. It’s carrying so much stuff that the weight is almost too much. When the camel is at its limit, even the tiniest bit of straw could be too much weight, and cause the camel to collapse and break its back. You said JJ was feeling pressured, so like that camel, he’s already carrying a bunch of weight. The little things you were doing felt like a lot.”
“Oh,” Chase breathed. That... would make sense with JJ, wouldn’t it? He mentioned his parents were on him all the time about being perfect, and then he also had the magic doll making him do stuff. Chase’s little slip-ups were just adding more to all that. “I...” Chase leaned against Mom, his eyes stinging again. “I don’t think I’m good at picking up on feelings.”
Mom patted his shoulder. “It’s okay, you’re still young. And you’re learning. Did you talk to JJ about all this?”
“Yeah. While we were in Ireland I talked to him. That’s when he said some of this stuff.”
“It’s good that you were able to tell something was happening and start the talk. Maybe it didn’t go well, but you can always keep going, try to fix that.”
“How?”
Mom shrugged. “You have to listen to JJ. Ask him what he wants, and take it seriously.”
“I wasn’t not taking it seriously!” Chase said defensively.
Mom laughed. “I never said you weren’t.”
Chase sighed... and then thought about it. He definitely knew the doll thing was a serious matter. But... maybe it wasn’t clicking into place for him on the serious scale. Chase didn’t know what JJ was going through with the doll and his parents and everything. He didn’t “get” it, just as JJ accused him of during the trip to Ireland. But just because he didn’t know what it felt like to be JJ, didn’t mean that he couldn’t listen to what JJ wanted. It didn’t mean that he couldn’t try. “Thanks, Mom. I-I think I have an idea for what to do now.”
“Glad I could help, sweets.” Mom smiled.
“You have work stuff to do, right?” Chase hopped the bed. “I’m gonna go, then.”
“Hah. Well I did reach a stopping point, but thanks, Chase. You’re very thoughtful.”
“...yeah, I guess.” Chase didn’t feel very thoughtful with all this JJ stuff. But he could be. If he tried. “See you.”
“See you, Chase.”
Chase left Mom’s room at the end of the hall—and stopped. Schneep was standing there. Right outside the bathroom door, clearly within range to hear Chase and Mom talking. “Uh...”
“I-I did not mean to listen,” Schneep hurriedly said. “I just—I-I just—I, ah—”
“It’s fine, bro, don’t worry about it,” Chase said. “What did you hear?”
“Something about talking to JJ... and Aunt Jess told you to listen to him.” Schneep shifted awkwardly on his feet. “Were you not... listening to him before?”
“I was, I just... I don’t think I was doing a very good job,” Chase said quietly. “But I’m gonna try again.”
“I-is there anything I can do to help?” Schneep asked.
“Uh... maybe?” Chase said. “I don’t know. Do you know...” He paused, thinking. “JJ said I didn’t get what he was going through. Do... do you? Could you explain it to me?”
Schneep looked at Chase seriously for a second. Then he walked over to his room, gesturing for Chase to follow him. He did, and once the two of them were inside, Schneep shut the door. “Aunt Jess told you that my parents were... not very nice to me, ja?”
Chase nodded slowly. “Do you think JJ and Marvin’s parents are the same?”
“Not... exactly the same. I-I think they are a bit nicer.” Schneep fiddled with the sleeves of his sweater. “But... I think their parents really want JJ to be... what they want. They want him to be smart. A-and I know what that is like.”
Chase tilted his head. “Don’t all parents want their kids to be smart?”
“...um... s-sort of?” Schneep said. “But i-it is different. Aunt Jess would never tell you that you are disappointing if you did not get a perfect score on a test, would she?”
“What?! No!”
“Exactly. But I-I think JJ’s parents would.”
Chase shook his head slowly. He couldn’t even picture that. “That’s... that really is mean.”
Schneep gave a dark little laugh. “Yes... it is, isn’t it?” He continued to fidget with his sleeves. “The Jacksons want JJ to be exactly what they want. He does not want to disappoint them. So... there is pressure, ja?”
“Yeah. I’d be so scared of letting Mom down if she called me a disappointment when I did.”
Schneep nodded. “Things could be worse, too... but I do not think the Jacksons get too much worse than that. They feel... They would feel different when they look at you.”
Chase stared at him. “Hey, uh... Schneep, if you... ever want to talk about this stuff, I could uh... I’ll listen. I’m not sure if I’ll be good at it, but I’ll try.”
“You could be good at it, Chase.” Schneep looked up at him, smiling. “I-I know you care a lot. You just... are not sure how to show it, sometimes.”
“I wonder if I cared about JJ and the doll thing...” Chase muttered.
“You do. You just... did not understand, I think. But now you are ready to try and understand, ja?”
Chase nodded. “I-I am. I don’t know if I will, but I’ll listen. Like I did with you, and with Marvin. I-I don’t know why I could listen to you guys and not to JJ.”
“Well, I live with you, and Marvin is loud. JJ is quiet and does not live with you.”
“...it makes sense when you say it like that.” Chase laughed. “Uh, thanks, Schneep. And, uh... what I just said. If you want to talk about stuff, I’ll listen.”
“Thank you, Chase.” Schneep’s smile widened. “Now... go on. I am sure that you have things to do.”
“Yeah. I wanna plan stuff.” Chase nodded. “See you later.” And with that, he turned and left Schneep’s room, thinking about how to approach this JJ situation. He had an idea for what to do, he just had to figure out how to approach it.
++++++++++++++++++++
Hey can you meet me at Zellys after school tomorrow? You can bring Marvin if you want.
Why?
I want to talk about stuff. Say sorry. Is that okay or do you still want me to not talk to you?
No it’s fine. I’ll be there. Marvin will too.
Chase reread the text message exchange over and over, then looked out at the interior of Zelly’s. It was pretty empty this time of year, though there were a smattering of people sitting around drinking hot chocolate. JJ and Marvin hadn’t arrived yet. But they had to be here soon. Chase had been waiting for ten minutes. Mom dropped him off after school, Chase had promised to call her when he needed a ride back, and then said goodbye to her and Schneep and headed in, sitting at a booth near the front entrance. It was a bit cold, but he wouldn’t miss JJ and Marvin coming in... or so he thought. As time went on, he started to wonder if he’d missed them after all. Or maybe they weren’t coming at all.
Nope, the door opened and the twins walked in. JJ had his bag. It was mostly empty, but Chase could see the shape of a notebook and something plush. The doll, of course.
Chase considered waving them over, but they spotted him before then, walking over and sitting down on the booth bench across from him. “Soooo. Hey.” Marvin gave an awkward little wave. “I don’t know what this whole thing’s about, but JJ wanted me here.”
“Y-yeah. Of course, uh. Yeah.” Chase nodded.
They sat there in silence for a bit. Should we order something to drink? JJ asked.
“Uh, you’ll have to wave down one of the waiters, then, cause they checked on me earlier and I said I was fine.” Chase gave a little laugh. “But... uh, this isn’t about the drinks. We could but... I don’t know, it might be distracting or something.”
Marvin looked back and forth between JJ and Chase. “Is this about whatever happened in the hotel?”
“Basically, yeah,” Chase muttered. “Did JJ tell you what happened?”
“Nope. Not a thing. Even though I keep asking very politely.” Marvin shot JJ a playful glare. But JJ didn’t return the playfulness. Marvin’s expression softened. “Do you want me to go over to another table while you guys talk?”
Maybe... JJ said. Just for a bit.
Marvin nodded. “I’ll just go to the bathroom or something. Be back soon.” He stood up and left.
JJ slumped in his seat. I shouldn’t have asked him to come, but... I didn’t want to be alone right now. With the doll situation.
“Yeah...” Chase picked up a napkin and fidgeted with it awkwardly. “JJ I’m... I-I’m really sorry for all the commands I’ve been giving you accidentally. I didn’t... I-I never wanted to hurt you. You’re my friend. And I... I’m sorry that I didn’t... think about stuff that I should’ve.”
Jameson just stared at him.
“Y-you’re probably angry at me, a-and that’s—that’s okay,” Chase said. “You can be angry. It’s, uh... I-I would be angry too. But I-I want to make up for being... not thoughtful. So... I-I want to ask you what I can do to help. Wh-what do you want? What do you need? I’ll help you with it, whatever it is.” He almost said ‘tell me,’ but he was watching his words carefully. Don’t say anything that could be an order.
Silence. Jameson continued to stare. Then he sighed. Do you mean it? Do you really mean it?
Chase nodded. “Like I said, I wasn’t... I wasn’t doing a good job helping you with the doll thing, with all the... the accidental orders and stuff. So I-I want to make up for it. Cause I’m really sorry for all the... a-all the trouble I’ve been causing.”
More staring. Then, JJ’s brows lowered and he nodded decisively. Alright. I need you to help me get rid of the doll, then.
“Oh, uh, yeah, totally,” Chase said. “But... I’m confused. We don’t really have a way to get rid of it, do we?”
I’ve had an idea for a while, JJ said. I haven’t brought it up, though, because... I know that people will say it’s dangerous. He took a deep breath. When we tried to burn the doll a while ago, it fixed itself, right? But Marvin said that when it did that, the greenlight spiked. So I wonder... Maybe it will run OUT of greenlight. If we messed up the doll a lot, it would have to use a lot of greenlight to repair itself, until it uses all its greenlight up. And maybe after that, we can fully destroy it. Because there won’t be enough greenlight to protect it.
Chase blinked. “You want… to... JJ, that would hurt you! A lot!”
I know, JJ said. But I can’t live like this forever, Chase. Every time my parents tell me to do something, I HAVE to do it. I had to do it anyways, before, but... I could have said no. Now I can’t. And that... that really hurts. More than any of the pain the doll could inflict. Because at least once the doll is gone, it will be over. If I keep having it, I’ll keep hurting forever.
“I don’t...” Chase breathed. “I-I don’t want you to get hurt...”
“What are you two fucking talking about?!” Marvin was back at the table.
Chase blinked. “Uh—”
“JJ, what the fuck are you talking about that would get you hurt?!” Marvin asked, sitting back down next to him and leaning close.
JJ sighed and repeated what he’d told Chase.
“You want to fucking what?!” Marvin gasped. “Jameson! That—wh-what if that—what if you get really hurt? What if you—you h-have to—go to the h-hospital? Or... worse?”
I won’t, JJ said. I’ve been thinking about what it felt like. It was only pain, no actual damage. I checked.
“Pain is still bad! It means something’s going wrong! JJ, you can’t do this.”
I HAVE to do this, Marvin, Jameson insisted. I can’t keep living with this fucking doll.
“But—but—” Marvin was trembling, fists clenched together. “Chase, you agree with me, right?”
Chase was quiet.
“Chase?!” Marvin shouted.
“I-I don’t think it’s a good idea,” Chase said slowly. “But... we don’t have a good idea for getting rid of the doll. You can’t drain the greenlight from it, can you?”
“I-I mean... I can kinda get it to move around a little...”
“But you can’t pull it out of the doll, can you?” Chase prompted. Marvin opened his mouth but couldn’t say anything, and only shook his head. “Exactly. JJ’s idea might work. It’s just a tiny doll. It can’t have, like, an infinite amount of greenlight. Nothing does! Well, except maybe the Fissures. But that’s cause that’s where the greenlight comes from, creatures up here don’t have infinite greenlight. They only channel it or hold it until they run out.”
“Chase, I can’t just stand by while my brother hurts himself,” Marvin said quietly.
Then don’t, Marvin, JJ said. Help us with it. Make sure that it’s as safe as possible.
“Chase isn’t helping you with this crazy fucking idea!” Marvin insisted.
“I...” Chase’s voice cracked. He cleared his throat. “I promised I’d help JJ out with whatever he wanted. And he wants to try this to get rid of the doll.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” Marvin shouted.
“Marvin, maybe—maybe we could do this in a safe way,” Chase said. “Maybe we could do it in, like, spurts. With breaks. O-or we could do it while JJ is asleep so he might sleep through it. Though... I guess if it really hurts it’ll wake him up... But still! I-I haven’t really been listening to JJ lately... kind of the same way I wasn’t... really understanding you and your ‘weird’ thing. S-so... if JJ wants me to help him with this to make up for that, then I’ll do it.”
Marvin stared at Chase silently. Then he looked at Jameson. “You guys can’t just... talk this out? Like Chase and I did?”
Chase is the one who wanted to do a thing to make up for it, JJ said. But even if he wasn’t... I think actions will speak louder than words for me. Because Chase kept promising and saying stuff, but not doing stuff.
Chase winced as Jameson said that, but it was true.
I don’t know why you were okay with a sorry and I’m not, Jameson said. But... I want this. I want to get away from this doll, and if Chase can help... then I want his help.
Marvin pursed his lips. “I don’t like it... but... if we try to make sure it’s safe... M-maybe I could... help.” He took a deep breath. “Maybe if there’s less greenlight in the doll, I’ll be able to pull out the last of it.”
“Yeah, good idea.” Chase tore the corner off the napkin he was playing with.
“Oh my god... we can’t tell any of the others what we’re going to do,” Marvin said. “You know the other three will want to stop us.”
“Part of me says that they have a point,” Chase muttered.
Guys, please. Jameson looked back and forth between the two of them. I have to get rid of this. There’s not another way. If there was, we would’ve thought of it by now.
Marvin groaned, “Ohhh this is a baaaad idea. But I guess... I guess we can’t think of anything better.”
You two are in? Jameson asked seriously.
Chase and Marvin nodded silently.
Good. Alright, let’s come up with a plan...
++++++++++++++++++++
“So you two are going to spend time together, then? Like you did with Marvin?”
“Yeah, I told you this before, you don’t have to keep asking me.” Chase looked out the window. He could see the Jackson house coming up.
“I just like to be sure,” Schneep said. “So why are you going over to his house instead of to that cinema you went to with Marvin?”
“Cause he didn’t want to go there, I dunno.” And because it would be really bad if they were caught taking a lighter and some knives into a movie theater. Even one that was usually empty.
“Hm.” Schneep pursed his lips. “I just... I would expect that he would want to get away from his parents...”
“They’re gonna go on a date tonight,” Chase said. “We’re gonna be home alone. Apparently their parents leave them home alone a lot.”
“Hrmm.” Mom hummed, listening in on the conversation as she drove. Even Chase could tell she disapproved of that practice. “Are you sure you don’t want me to stay with you?”
“If things get bad, I’ll call you or Jackie,” Chase said. “I promise.”
“Alright...”
“Mom, you let me skateboard in the park by myself this summer! This isn’t much different!”
“You’re right, Chase, you’re right.” Mom nodded. “Anyway. Here we are.” She pulled to the side of the curb in front of the Jackson house. “Henrik and I will be back to pick you up in about an hour.”
“Good luck, Chase,” Schneep said.
“Thanks, guys.” Chase smiled. “Love you.” He got out of the car and headed up to the Jacksons’ front door.
Immediately, Marvin opened the doorway. He must have been watching from the kitchen window. “Hey, Chase. Come in.” He stepped to the side, and Chase walked into the front hallway. He hadn’t been here since the Halloween birthday party. His eyes were immediately drawn to the stairs, but he quickly looked away. Marvin closed the door behind Chase. “Mam and Dad are already gone,” he said.
“And your grandma left, too?” Chase asked.
“Yep. Granmam’s gone back home to Ireland. But it was nice to have her here. It’s always nice.” Marvin smiled slightly. “Uh... JJ’s in the living room. So...”
“Right, yeah, let’s go.”
The two of them walked down the hallway to the living room. JJ was sitting on the sofa, a textbook in his lap, scanning it intently. The twins’ cat, the small gray Sinney, sat curled up next to him on the cushions, leaning on his leg. Gathered on the coffee table were a couple different things. A lighter, a fireplace poker with two tongs on the end (who knows where they got those?), and a couple kitchen knives, one with a serrated edge. And, of course, the doll. “Before Mam and Dad left they told JJ to study,” Marvin said. “And they said he could stop at five, so... we need a few minutes.”
“O-oh.” Chase looked at JJ again, the way his gaze was completely fixed on the book. “Uh... JJ?”
JJ raised a single hand and waved, eyes still locked on the page.
“That’s... that’s a bit freaky,” Chase said quietly. “Jeez... I-I’m sorry again, JJ.”
JJ nodded.
Marvin sat down on the armchair and picked up the TV remote. “Okay... w-we want this to be kinda calming, so we put a movie on. And we also have this.” He reached back and pulled a fuzzy, cream-colored blanket from the back of the armchair. “And this.” He leaned forward, grabbing a throw pillow from behind him. “Just, you know... comfy stuff. To offset the... the...” Marvin trailed off, his face drawn in worry. “Are we... We’re really doing this, huh?”
“Yeah, I guess we are,” Chase sighed. “It feels weird to be doing this without the others. Kinda like... we’re sneaking around.”
“Yeah. But you know that Jackie wouldn’t let us do this.”
Chase nodded. Jackie was probably right... after all, they’d already established this was a bad idea. But...
The next couple minutes pass in awkward silence, until JJ finally slams the book shut, letting out a sigh of relief. Sinney jumps in surprise, falling onto her other side. Sorry, he signed to her.
“You, uh... were really stuck, huh?” Chase said.
Jameson nodded slowly. I hate it. I can’t wait until this is done with.
“Come on, Sinney.” Marvin hurried over and scooped her up. “You’re staying in our room, out of the way.”
“She’s bigger than she was at Halloween,” Chase commented. “Cats really grow up fast, huh?”
“Yep.” Marvin nodded. “I’ll be right back.” And he hurried out of the room.
JJ grabbed the blanket, pillow, and TV remote Marvin pointed out earlier. He curled up in the corner of the L-shaped sofa, pulling the blanket over his legs and leaning back against the pillow. He turned on the TV with the remote, and a DVD menu appeared. Chase looked at the screen. “The Nightmare Before Christmas? Uh... not what I expected, honestly.”
All our normal movies are still put away for the holiday season, with the Christmas movies still out, JJ explained. Nightmare is our favorite out of all those.
“It’s... comforting?”
Yeah. I know it’s weird but... yeah. JJ started the movie.
“It’s not weird,” Chase assured him. “It’s not what I’d choose, but I can get it. It’s like... it’s fun.”
JJ brightened slightly and nodded.
Marvin soon returned. “Aw, I missed ‘This is Halloween’?”
“Do you want us to rewind?” Chase asked.
“N-no, let’s...” Marvin took a deep breath. “Let’s just get started. Before I fucking... chicken out.” He picked up the fireplace poker and the doll, hesitating. Then he scrunched his eyes shut and stabbed the tongs into the doll’s chest.
Chase winced. JJ jerked in place slightly, but soon relaxed again.
“Chase?” Marvin held onto the handle of the poker. The doll is solidly stabbed on the end, and he used the poker to hold it at arm’s length. “Uh... start doing shit?”
“Right.” Chase picked up the lighter. This would only be his... second time using one? The last time he used one was to light the candle on Mom’s birthday cake, because he felt like she shouldn’t have to do that for herself. That was months ago. He clicked it on and carefully aimed the flame at the doll’s foot... keeping it there until the flames started to spread.
JJ’s foot jerked in turn. He frowned, folding it under his other leg. As the fire spread across the doll, Jameson shifted uncomfortably, and pushed the blanket off. His face was slowly turning red from the heat.
“Okay okay that’s enough!” Marvin quickly said.
Jameson shook his head, protesting. Not yet!
“JJ you look like you’re burning up!”
I’m fine!
“You’re not!” Marvin looked back at the doll, engulfed in flames. “Chase, go get some water from the kitchen!”
“Uh—sure!” Chase ran out of the room and towards the kitchen. He grabbed an empty plastic pitcher off the counter and filled it up with water from the sink. Then he dashed back down the hall, water splashing around, and threw the water at the burning doll.
Immediately, the flames went out. JJ slumped, gasping and sweating. He raised shaky hands and asked, Did it work?
“If you mean ‘is the greenlight spiking like before,’ then yeah.” Marvin put the doll and poker down. The three guys all stared as the burned fabric as it slowly unburned.
Is there less greenlight? JJ asked.
“Uh... yeah, I guess.”
Then do it again!
“JJ, I don’t...” Marvin trailed off.
Please. Jameson looked back and forth between Marvin and Chase. I know this will work. Just keep going.
“...I guess we could try again,” Chase muttered. He bent down and poked the doll. “Oh my god, it’s dry now.”
“I guess we can burn it again, then...” Marvin said slowly. He picked up the poker, holding the doll out in the same manner. “Uh... Chase?”
Chase reluctantly picked up the lighter again. He clicked it on and slowly put it up to the doll’s arm, watching as it lit up. Jameson winced, shaking out his hand. He curled up as the fire engulfed the doll, a small whimper coming from his throat—
“Okay do it again water again!” Marvin shouted.
Chase ran out of the room with the pitcher, filled it up again, and returned, splashing the doll once more. And again, Jameson relaxed, gasping.
Marvin dropped the doll. “We can’t keep doing this,” he said.
But it’s working! JJ said desperately. You know it is!
“You got more hurt faster, JJ! I don’t want to fucking hurt you!” Marvin’s voice cracked.
We just need to wait a bit more between doing it. You know Mam and Dad will be out all evening and Chase doesn’t have to leave until eight. We just give it a bigger gap so I can recover more!
“Are you fucking serious?! JJ, I don’t want to hurt you at all!”
Chase winced. “JJ, I... I really want to help you, but... it feels bad. To be doing this. Th-there has to be another way.”
I haven’t thought of one, Jameson said. But I’m open to suggestions.
“...Uhhh...” Chase’s thoughts whirled as he scrambled for a solution. “Have you... have you thought about opening up the doll? Seeing if there’s something inside?”
The Jackson twins both stared at him. Completely silent, and obviously stunned.
“You haven’t?” Chase had expected JJ to say something like ‘yes I tried that and it didn’t work.’ After all, JJ was smarter than him.
“Well it seems obvious when you say it like that,” Marvin muttered.
People put stuff inside plushies? JJ asked.
“Yeah. Like at Build-A-Bear. Or, uh, I-I haven’t seen any of those in town, so maybe you don’t know. But at Build-A-Bear, they put little hearts and voice boxes inside the bears when they stuff them. Maybe whoever made this doll did that, too.”
“...huh.” Marvin blinked. “I guess it’s worth a shot. Right, JJ?”
JJ nodded. He picked up the remote and paused the movie, sensing that this needed serious silence. How do we do that?
“I mean... I guess we have to cut it open...” Chase muttered. “It’ll try to fix itself, but if one of us holds it open while the other reaches inside, I think that’ll work.”
Marvin immediately picked up the doll. “Alright, Chase. I can hold it.” He glanced at JJ. “This... this will hurt you, too, you know... b-but hopefully less... and hopefully it’ll be over after this...”
Jameson nodded. I can handle it for a little bit.
“Okay...” Marvin whispered. “Ready, Chase?”
“Uh... yeah, I guess.” He picked up one of the kitchen knives the two had brought out and left on the coffee table. “Lay it on the table face-down. Oh, a-and take off the shirt.”
Marvin knelt next to the coffee table. “The clothes are sewn on, we tested that, but I’ll pull it up.” He did so, leaving the back of the doll exposed.
Chase knelt down across from him. He gripped the knife tightly and took a deep breath. “Alright.” This felt... bad, but not as bad as what they were doing before. He’d never stabbed anything before. Does he just... push the tip of the knife into the fabric? He carefully tried that.
The fabric gave some resistance, but he was able to cut into it. Chase gritted his teeth and pulled the knife downward. Both he and Marvin glanced over at JJ as they did that. Jameson was stiff, pressing his back against the pillow and sofa, but gave them an encouraging thumbs up as they looked at him.
Once there was a long cut through the fabric, Marvin reached forward and pulled it so the cut was wider—keeping it from closing up as well. Chase could see a bunch of stuffing inside it. No time to wait! He plunged his hand inside, feeling around—and immediately found something, cringing at the strange texture. He pulled it out, going in two other times to make sure he got it all. On the third time, he couldn’t find anything more... and the cut in the fabric had stopped trying to seal itself.
JJ sat up, his eyes wide. It doesn’t hurt anymore!
“That must’ve been it!” Marvin gasped. He looked at the pile of stuff Chase had pulled out, and his nose wrinkled. “Oh, what the fuck is that?”
Inside the doll was a pile of red-brown crusty... stuff. And a handful of broken crystal shards. “I have no idea,” Chase said, staring at it on the coffee table.
JJ leaned forward. I think that’s dried blood. It caused some of the stuffing to clump together.
“Ohhhh.” Marvin nodded. “Yeah, that makes sense, I guess. We know blood makes greenlight stron—”
“You ruined it!”
Chase’s face suddenly slammed against the coffee table as someone tackled him from behind. He yelled in pain, Marvin cried out in alarm, and shot a beam of greenlight at the thing that had pinned Chase, knocking away a sudden shadow. The shadow skidded across the ground until it hit the armchair, where it solidified: Anti.
“Ruined what, asshole?!” Marvin shouted, standing up.
“Everything!” Anti shouted back. “You haven’t actually gone to fight the Circle, you ruined the present, you ruined everything! Can’t you just play the game right?!”
“Maybe we could if you explained whatever bullshit rules you’re playing at!” Green spheres of light appeared around Marvin’s hands. “Get out of here!”
Chase scrambled to his feet. “You—We know about you!” He pointed at Anti.
“Huh?” Anti tilted his head to the side. “What do you mean? Of course you know about me.”
“No, no we know about Jack!” Chase said. “You—you were his friend or something, weren’t you?”
Anti stiffened. In that moment, he looked more solid than he ever had before, the blood from the wound on his neck flowing down his throat. “You... found Jack?” he whispered. “You talked to him?”
“Yeah.” Chase nodded. “And he remembers you. You’re his imaginary friend. Did you like, become real through the greenlight or something?”
Anti’s eyes darkened. “You don’t know anything,” he said bitterly. “Jack doesn’t remember me. He forgot about me.” He unfurled to his full height, taller than the kids, feet solidly on the ground for once. “Just like JJ will forget about you.” He pointed at Marvin. “When you’re allll grown up, he’s going to forget about you and leave you behind.”
Marvin blinked, then narrowed his eyes. “You said that we don’t know anything? Clearly, you don’t fucking know anything, either! JJ would never leave me! We’ve been together through everything!”
“You don’t know that!” Anti screamed. “He’s going to leave you! Cause everyone loves him! He’s gonna choose that instead of you! Didn’t you see?! Hasn’t he been doing that these past couple months?!”
“Only because of that fucking doll!”
“Wait!” Chase held up his hands. “How do you know about the doll?”
“Cause I gave it to him, you—you dummy!” Anti snapped. “It took me so long to make it and figure out how to—I put my blood in that doll! Literally!”
Marvin gaped. “But—but he got that from the Circle, didn’t he? The school staff gave it to him.”
“Because I gave it to them first. I had to figure out how to make it so you wouldn’t throw it away right away—it probably wouldn’t have worked if you did that. So it had to be important, so it had to be like a prize or something, and he won so many school prizes, anyway.”
Chase’s knees felt weak. It felt like he was about to fall over. “But—but why? Wh-why would you do that?”
“To show you that he’s like that, anyway,” Anti said. “If the doll is real or not, it doesn’t matter, there’s always a doll there, because JJ is like Jack, he is a doll who listens to people, and cause of that, he’s going to leave you behi—!”
A flash of movement. Jameson rushed the coffee table, scooped up a knife, and launched himself at Anti. The blade sank into Anti’s stomach as the two of them toppled back, smacking against the armchair and falling to the floor. Jameson tried to stab Anti two more times, but to no effect, his hand just passing through his body this time. Anti looked at him in shock—and then disappeared. Jameson stared at the place he’d been, and then growled and punched the floor right where Anti’s face was.
“Holy shit, JJ!” Marvin gaped. “I know he sucks but—but that was so sudden! Did you really have to—”
“I-I...”
Chase inhaled sharply. That voice... JJ was...
“I…” Jameson leaned back, kneeling and clutching his head. “I-I ammm... I-I am nnh...”
Marvin went pale. He hurried over to Jameson’s side, kneeling next to him. “JJ, don’t—you know that it’s hard for you to—y-you don’t have to—”
“I am nn—!” Jameson continued. “I-I am n-nah—n-naht... I a-am nnot a d-dahl. I-I am—not! A d-d-doll!” His breath hitched as tears filled his eyes. “I-I am n-not a doll! I am not a d-doll! I am not a doll!” The tears overflowed, streaming down his face as he screamed the words over and over. Marvin, shocked, silently put a hand on his back, and when Jameson didn’t pull away, he wrapped his arm around his shoulders. “I a-am not a doll! I am not a doll!”
Chase stood nearby, shocked at what he was seeing. Part of him felt like he should leave. But... another part of him knew he shouldn’t. He slowly walked forward, kneeling on the ground in front of Jameson but staying out of arm’s reach, just in case. “You’re not a doll,” he said quietly. “You’re... y-you’re a person. With your own thoughts and stuff. Your own things that you like and want. I-it’s not fair that people just... want you to do what they want. Or that they... just kinda assume you’re not bothered by stuff that would clearly bother you.” He cleared his throat, embarrassed. “I’m... I’m sorry.”
Jameson looked up at him through watery eyes, breathing heavily.
“I... I-I think I was maybe... not all that good at seeing how scared you were,” he continued. “I think... I just thought that since you didn’t say anything, you weren’t bothered. But... clearly, something really bad was happening. If you were okay with being hurt to get rid of it.” He took a deep breath. “But you’re my friend, JJ. I don’t want you to be hurt, by yourself, or by other people, or... by me. You’re not a doll. You’re fun, and brave, and weird in a good way, and I-I like how you can be funny in a quiet way, and I like how much you like your film and theatre stuff, and... and I like you, JJ. The real you, not whatever your parents or the teachers or the Circle people see about you. All the books and smarts and stuff. I mean, you are smart, but you’re so many other things. And I’m sorry I didn’t... I didn’t get you.”
Jameson’s breathing had calmed down, but he was still crying slightly. It was a different kind of crying, though. Thank you, Chase, he said, hands trembling slightly. I’m glad we’re friends. You messed up a bit, but I know you care. I’m glad we’re friends. I’m glad we’re friends.
Chase smiled slightly. “Yeah. Me too.” He took a deep breath. “Um... so. The ‘let’s destroy the doll’ thing was a really bad idea. We can all agree on that, right?”
JJ laughed. Yeah, that sucked. Not very smart of me. I guess I just... really, REALLY wanted it gone. Thanks for suggesting the... doll surgery instead.
“Ha. It was kinda doll surgery, wasn’t it?”
“I can’t fucking believe neither of us thought about that,” Marvin muttered. “Maybe we were just too scared to try. But like—messing the doll up over and over was even scarier, and your idea made more sense. I can’t believe after all that time, it was that easy to get rid of that fucking thing. Ugh.” He looked at the remains of the doll on the coffee table. The blood-crusted stuffing and crystal fragments. “What do we do with that?”
“I say we light the bloody stuff on fire,” Chase said. “And then like... bury the crystals. And the doll. In two different spots.”
JJ shook his head slightly. I don’t think we bury the doll. We should keep it somewhere we can keep an eye on it. The crystals, though, that’s a good idea. I don’t want to touch them, though.
“I’ll take care of it.” Marvin let go of JJ and crawled over to the coffee table, putting the crystals in his pocket. “And let’s also burn this shit.” He put the bloody stuffing into the pitcher, then grabbed the lighter. Greenlight surrounded his hand, and he levitated the lighter down into the pitcher as well, using the greenlight to turn it on and light the stuffing on fire. Then he quickly pulled the lighter back out.
They all watched as the fire burned.
And once it started to die down, Chase hurried over to grab the pitcher. “I’m gonna put this out with water,” he said. “We don’t wanna mess up the bottom of the jug.” He hurried into the kitchen and filled up the pitcher. All that was left inside was ash, which he dumped out into the sink with the water. Then he put the pitcher back where it was on the counter and returned to the living room. “Well. What d’you guys want to do now?”
JJ looked at the TV. Can we start the movie over? Actually watch it? And can we get Sinney, too?
“Yeah, of course, JJ,” Marvin said.
Chase sat down on the sofa. “We’ll have a nice night with a movie and a cat.”
JJ smiled. He climbed onto the sofa, too, sitting next to Chase. Marvin got Sinney from their room, and they started the movie over, silent the whole time as they watched it to the end.

*mood music*
Well, tonight is the end of S2, beautiful friends…it’s been a lot of fun. I’d like to thank each and every one of you who made this off the wall, chaotic shitposting journey with us. This blog wouldn’t have been anything without y’all! Hopefully this show left us with some good memes….
So, until S3, I’m gonna keep writing silly little fanfics like this! Stay gold, critters.
….bang. /ref
Inspired by this post from @friendlysmiler
Pim is canonically quite the party animal himself from what we saw in everyone’s favorite episode so who knows what hijinks the little pink imp gets into? XD
Side Note: Bill and Smormu are not only both alive here but they’re a wlw couple here, Bill is a he/him lesbian and Smormu is transfemme and sapphic, because that’s how I roll.
Monday, 7:15am
A fresh start to a brand new week at the Smiling Friends charity has officially began as everyone punched in and awaited their breakfast Alan theatrically-prepared while he channeled his inner Joichiro Yukihira in the breakroom kitchen.
Charlie was scrolling through his phone while smirking at old Rage Comics from over a decade ago with Glep watching on his shoulder and making a similar goofy smirk while Pim happily drew a picture of his co-workers in colored pencils to stick onto the fridge while quietly singing a song from one of his comfort shows.
“Take a moment to think of juuuust, flexibility love and truuust~”
Once Pim colored inside the lines, he hopped out of his chair and scurried to the fridge to display his masterpiece. “Excuse me, I’m just going to grab the cheese to melt over our deluxe omelette.” asked Alan in his usual monotone voice while Pim let out a nervous squeak while stepping out of Alan’s way. While Alan grabbed what he needed he inspected Pim’s drawing a with an impressed smile. “I really like your picture here, you even perfectly replicated my scales.”
Pim started excitedly fidgeting his hands as he chirped: “Thank you, Alan, I always find it weird whenever people draw you, they tend to forget or deliberately leave it out. I think your scales are beautiful!” Alan got a bit bashful while trying to stay focused on finding the cheese grater, uttering a somewhat-shaker “Thank you, you’re too kind….damn can’t find it, don’t want to burn the omelette so I’ll just-“ Alan grabbed a knife and precisely peeled thin-layers of cheddar to gently lay on top of the fluffy eggy clouds seasoned with garden-fresh herbs and spring onions.
Charlie couldn’t resist making a cheap shot at his slinky red co-worker: “Hey guys, Alan cut the cheese.”, such was a line that caused him and Glep to burst into laughter as if they where in grade school. Alan, who was serving plates carrying slices of the omelette, wasn’t amused and was tempted to gift the two wisecracking ingrates each an equally-tasteless surprise of pulling a Glep into their food, but took the high-brow road with a classy remark: “Let’s switch the conversation to a topic with actual substance…so, how did everyone’s weekend go?”
Charlie piped up first: “I played through the entirety of this one cool RPG for two days straight then when I finally beat it I celebrated getting wasted at the bar before getting kicked out for starting another brawl and spent all Sunday sleeping off my hangover.” He lifted his right sleeve to reveal the cherry on top: “On the way home I got this bitchin’ tattoo.” Lovingly detailed on Charlie’s arm was a crudely-drawn snake-dragon thing with arms breathing fire.
Alan then turned to Pim, asking: “How was yours?” to which Pim casually replied: “Oh, nothing much, the highlight was me and some friends hanging out at a pool.”
…
Friday, 6:00pm ~ Three Nights Ago…
Pim was sneaking around with a group of familiar faces as the moon hung in the sky like a charm on a bracelet, a chorus of snickering harmonized with the chirping crickets and the hooting owls. They stop at their final destination: the fence barring access to a familiar estate from the common folk….that didn’t stop the wild bunch from helping each other break in by climbing over and slipping through. Greeting the mischievous party was a grandiose pool yard just begging for the crowd to jump in. “Ah, the perks of having connections with an A-List Celebrity….” Pim monologued to himself, before taking his shirts and shorts off revealing underneath was a hot sparkly teal one-piece with a star-shaped hole at the back for his pollywog tail to peek through. Smormu, who wore a pink floral-print bikini under her button-up and capri-pants whispered to Pim: “Are you sure we’re not going to get caught?” Pim replied with a grin: “Don’t worry, love, Mr. Frog’s out and about somewhere, probably at a crummy bar, and probably causing his usual commotions there so he isn’t too concerned with whatever’s happening here.” As Duncan and Dj Spitz set the mood by the former playing a 90s bop out of a retro boombox and the latter breaking out the booze, Everyone stampeded over to the pool in unison, each individual jumping in the cold crisp waters in various amusing ways as the loud victory cry of “GERONIMOOOO!!!!” bursted out of the ever-excitable Filmore’s mouth like a firework into the sky. It was a rip-roaring time with just a hint of good-old-fashioned chaos, just the way Pim liked it.
Just three nights night ago around this time, Pim was uncontrollably sobbing to himself in a pillow over the fact that his fickle sister Amy invited literally everyone she knew to her wedding… except for her ever-loyal and loving baby brother, bragging about having Mr. Frog as a celebrity guest. Sick of crying his eyes out and being excluded from his family’s lives on a daily basis, he figured he could have a celebration of his own! The only downside was his co-workers having plans of their for that weekend, otherwise he would have invited them over for this late-night dive.
“A toast to our dear comrade and member of the Pennsylvania UFO-Hunting Squad, the ever-lovable Pimling!” Bill proposed as he raised his glass, everyone followed suit, chanting Pim’s name, except for a heavily-intoxicated Dj Spitz pounding in his chest and hollering out: “FUCK YEAH ROCK ON LIL PINK MAN!!!” Of course Pim immediately got flustered, his face turned a vivid shade of hot pink as a result of all the positive attention while mustering the confidence to reply until grinning sheepishly and raising his own glass, stuttering: “T-thank you everyone, you’re all too kind…all this hype about little ol’ me.” In a rush off of the praise and the sheer audacity of his actions, he chugged his drink down without a second thought. Everything after that was a string of vague, discombobulated visions of what happened in-between the rest of the night…
Saturday, 5:02am
It was a very early morning when the dizzy, light-headed Pim woke up front-facing the twilight sky melting into daytime, getting up and finding himself floating inside Mr. Frog’s grandiose fountain in front of his house until he immediately snapped out of it upon just noticing the strewn toilet paper and graffiti all over the statue. In a panic, Pim swam out and scurried around looking for everyone else and making sure nobody was left behind, his heart raced discovering more of the shameless if not karmic defilement of Mr. Frog’s property: overturned lawn chairs with one thrown into a window, discarded junk inside the pool and the jacuzzi, more TP strewn around like party streamers and someone’s trunks (presumably Duncan’s) hung like a flagpole like a comical take on a windsock. It seemed everyone except Pim had taken off before sunrise if not gotten arrested. Combined with the panic attack he was getting and the unambiguous symptoms of a hangover reeking havoc on his body, Pim tried to reach for a trash can to stress-vomit until he collapsed and relieved his bile in the jacuzzi. Minutes went by as Pim felt weak like a newborn kitten, prepared for the legal trouble he was about to get himself in if Mr. Frog wasn’t going to maim him Spamtopia-style first….just then a familiar voice rang in Pim’s ears that filled him with relief, Pim’s eyes cracked open as he started upward at a sober Bill holding the hand of his stumbling partner, Smormu. “Morning, buddy, need a hand?” Pim responded without so much words as it was a tired grunt and raising his stubby pink hand to initiate Bill and Smormu helping their friend up. “Let’s hurry and get out of here, unless we wanna throw a party in the county tank.” Bill chuckled.
Later that day saw a double-dose of tea and drama Pim was secretly and gleefully catching up with, from Pim’s mother recanting to Pim how much of a disaster Amy’s wedding was when Mr. Frog showed his ass once again by getting drunk and trashing the place, even spilling red wine on her wedding dress. Then the news that Mr. Frog came home to his place utterly savaged, claiming he’d seek revenge on the purp but considering the type of person he was, everyone assumed that Frog did it himself after coming home from the wedding he was invited too and was too drunk to remember.
Monday, 7:27am
Pim finished with an uproar of laughter from his co-workers plus Mr. Boss, all of them in shock and awe that the one always perceived as the cute little “goody-two-shoes” of the Smiling Friends charity was capable of getting up to some serious frat boy-level shenanigans. Charlie felt as if he wasted his time spending his weekend the same as the last, so he asked his best friend: “Hey Pim, you think I can hang out with you next weekend?” Pim made an innocent pose, putting his finger on his lips as if he was a kid who got caught stealing from a cookie jar. “Well, maybe not same-the-same-place but I know another celebrity’s pool yard to break into! I hear the Krombledashians are hosting the Meep Gala next Saturday…”

I wanna be yours
(introduction/pt 1)
ellie x overachiever/artsy!reader [modern!au]
Summary: You and Ellie always seem to have “hated” each other, until one day you realize that may not be the case.
[rivals to lovers trope]
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Not proof read! (pls comment any mistakes i made so i can fix it)
Tumblr media
When you were 14 you had moved to a whole new city and that meant you’d be in a new school. When you got there, you saw a pretty girl with auburn hair and green eyes. In an attempt to make friends you went up to her and spoke to her, you later regretted this decision as you realized how reckless and how annoying she was.
Your personalities were so different that it was difficult to keep up with her energy.
She was always beating you at everything too. Test results? You’d get a 95% and she’d have a 98%. Any kind of game? She’d win. It was so annoying. You were always an overachiever so the idea of someone being better than you is just irritating.
You’re both 18 now, but now Ellie has gotten more unbearable. She became aware of how much she annoys you and she now embraces it. She teases you for every little mistake you make and will brag about her test scores in front of you.
You really try to not let it get to you, but it’s so hard when she’s in almost every single one of your classes. Not only that, but she always chooses to sit right beside you. Every little thing she does irritates you, but you don’t even know why. Just something about her irritates you.
You always noticed her staring at you too. It was so weird.
Whenever you would bring this up to your best friend, Dina, she’d just tell you to ignore it. You became friends with Dina when you were 14, you met her due to her being a friend of Ellie’s.
Even though she was also Ellie’s best friend, you still loved talking to her and she was the complete opposite of Ellie. You found it shocking that someone as calm and caring like Dina, could be friends with someone like Ellie.
One day, your art teacher thought it’d be an amazing idea for your next huge project to be a partnered project. You hated working in partners or groups. You always ended up being chosen last or ended up doing all of the work.
The teacher decided she’d choose the partners randomly and of course you had to be partnered with Ellie Williams. When you heard that you had been partnered with her, you groaned.
You can hear Ellie’s chuckles beside you, it irritated you knowing that she knew how much this annoyed you. You wanted to just get up from your desk and leave the class.
The teacher explained the project to everyone, you guys would have 2 weeks to complete it and you two would need to paint portraits of each other.
You hated the idea of having to paint her.
[after school]
While you were complaining talking to Dina, Ellie walked up to you and put her arm around you.
“So, we gonna start our project today or what?” she said with a smug look on her face.
You rolled your eyes and said bye to Dina, then you turned your attention to Ellie.
“Ok, fine, how about we go to your house?” you said, trying to sound as content as you could.
Ellie chuckled before removing the arm that was wrapped around you.
“Come on, follow me” she said as she started walking.
Hesitantly, you followed her to her house.
[at her house]
“We’re gonna paint in the garage, that’s where all of my art supplies are” Ellie tells you as she pulls out the keys to her house.
Ellie’s house was actually really cozy and it didn’t look the way you expected it to look. When you got inside you removed your shoes and followed Ellie to her garage.
As much as you hated to admit it, Ellie’s garage was actually well cleaned and seemed well organized. It was obvious that she took care of this room.
You looked around and saw all of the different paintings and drawings that hung on the wall. There were even some unfinished clay models on a desk in the corner. Each painting, drawing and clay model looked like it was made with extensive care and detail.
As much as you hated Ellie, you admired her for the detail she put into her artwork.
Ellie put a stool down in front of her easel and told you to sit on it, you nodded and sat on it. You watched as Ellie carefully sketched you on her canvas.
You absolutely hated the idea of her drawing you, thinking that she’d purposefully mess it up and make you look weird. But that didn’t happen. She finished the sketch and you looked at it.
It was absolutely beautiful.
She drew you with amazing detail. She got the shape of your eyes, your nose and your lips right. It felt like you were looking at a photo of yourself.
“Woah..” was all you could say as you felt like your speech was taken from you. Ellie chuckled before telling you to take her place in front of the easel.
As you stood behind the easel, Ellie sat on the stool in front of it.
You sketched Ellie to the best of your abilities.
Although, right when you finished sketching Ellie, someone walked into the garage.
A man who you assumed was her dad apologized not knowing that Ellie had someone over.
Ellie told him that it was ok before asking you if you were finished, you nodded.
“Come on, take a look”
She gets off of the stool and stares at your sketch.
“It’s good, but it’s not amazing as mine is” she said with a mocking tone.
You rolled your eyes and groaned.
“Was that really necessary?” You sighed before looking at your phone. You realize how late it is, and how long you’ve been at Ellie’s house.
You quickly grab your bag and say bye to Ellie, not wanting to seem completely impolite.
Ellie offers to drive you to your house, as much as you wanted to say no, you looked outside the window and saw that it was already too dark for you to walk alone. You sighed and then slowly nodded.
She brings you to her car and opens up the passenger car door for you.
The whole drive there is awkward.
Ellie would try to start small talk, but you weren’t sure how you’d respond/you didn’t feel like responding. Ellie received the hint that you didn’t want to talk, so she just stopped.
When she stopped in front of your house you left her car so quick, you thanked her quickly before speed walking into your house.
Ellie watched as you hurried into your house, chuckling to herself as she watched you speed walk. When she was able to make sure you got inside safely, she drove away.

So, i've been getting Harassed in my ask box in this account, at first when i started getting these i wanted to just ignore and move on with my day but after it happened again after blocking the Anonymous the first time, I just had to make this post.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would like to inform all those that don't know my past, I've been involved in some really old drama in the past where I was called a groomer because until I hit 18 I was with a guy that was 4 years younger then me (I left him as soon as I hit 18 and friends made me realize that this 4 years age gap was not a good thing).
I actually talked about My and His mistakes with him last year cus he texted me after a long time of no-contact "I'm Sorry", and we both opened up about the mistakes we did to eachother;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I obviously hid his Discord name for privacy reasons) as you can see this has been cleared up between Me and Him. I was in the wrong for ever dating him, but to my defense I didn't know back then that 4 years age gap was bad until I was told it was, I haven't dated a minor ever since(mind you when me and him were dating I was Also a minor, but once again broke things off as soon as I turned 18), and he apologized to me for guilt tripping me into staying with him or else he would 💀 himself. I've known my whole life that the age of concent is 14 (at least here in Italy) and I didn't know that for him it's 16, I should have done my researches on it but as a young girl it never crossed my mind that in America these rules work differently, about the drawing p0rn of him thing, yes it did happen, I originally DIDN'T want to do it but he guilt tripped me into making it to the point i just gave in and did it, but it never felt right to me and i know i'm in the wrong cus i should have stayed strong and not do it, but my fear of him hurting himself because of me overpowered me (he actually did hurt himself because i left him once and he showed me a photo with a bl33ding arm wrapped up in the hospital).
now I obviously know better and I restrain myself from talking to minors unless I'm in a group where they are also present (aka a server) or I know them irl, like my Art students.
I even made an apology video where I personally wrote and read outloud apologies to all the people I've hurt in the past, including my ex, and have also done a live where I listened to one of the people I've hurt;
youtube
youtube
(You can watch then if you want, you're not forced to)
Now, for the whole "drawing two siblings in a love relationship" thing, I was a child and didn't know any better. I thought it was normal considering that I knew two siblings that loved eachother that way and didn't know it was actually wrong, I stopped this as soon as someone pointed out in the comments back on Amino that it was actually wrong and weird.
I know the things i did were wrong and i made amends for those mistakes, we all did in our own little, I've been trying to move on from my past mistakes, I've apologized over and over for my mistakes and I want the fact that everyone who was involved has happily moved on and were all friends now to be acknowledged. I don't want some ignorant person to bring back what was already fixed a long time ago.
So if you could please stop harassing me in my ask box that would be nice, thank you for reading if you bothered to read all the way up to here, and thank you to all the friends of mine that have been supportive of me through this all, thank you.

I feel different... Angrier.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can still feel the key turning inside my back, Is this unusual? Maybe... and hell it was painful.
"It worked; my project actually worked!" When he heard Mary talk it only came out as blurs to him, it's a shame he couldn't hear her angelic voice, yet he could still hear the key ticking. Do I need to lie down? No, too much energy for that, I think I'll be alright. for now.
3 days have passed; Every time Larry pass through the halls, he could feel most of his classmates giving me weird stares. Was it out of confusion, or amusement? No, it could be both if you tried hard enough.
Chattering and whispering could be heard, sounded like they were making fun of him, one could utter to her friend almost giggling; it wasn't very funny. The talking grew louder and worse, walking near a crowd was a terrible idea. going outside to get some air would be better than this.
The exit was close by so he wouldn't waste time listening to them. "Wow, Scaredy Larry has a new accessory? Really suits you."
Out of all people he had to be approached by Kenneth and his friends(lackeys). Larry gave a dour expression to the group. he didn't want to deal with their crap today, he tried to walk away but one of them was blocking his path, "what's with the look, I just wanted to pay a compliment" his tone sounded cold and fake.
"Fuck off." Was all I could mutter before I felt a tug on the key, I flinched quickly and shoved his hands off. "What's with the key, you trying to cosplay as a toy?" Kenneth questioned as he tugged it again; he swatted him back with his own book, but it didn't stop there when his lackeys tried to grab it as well, one of them was even recording!
The moment he caught Larry off guard, Kenneth twisted the key in an instant; letting out a pained scream the poor guy almost collapsed, he just stood there and finally lets it go, but it didn't stop the agony and discomfort. Attention started to draw even as Kenneth and his friends ran off somewhere else, leaving Larry alone. it was so nice that one of my classmates took pity enough to take him to the nurse, won't be much help though. ... It took a bit to recover before getting sent back to class, yet the stings still remain. Larry couldn't focus on the lesson, nor could he focus much on the assignment. his thoughts still linger at the fact Kenneth felt that confident to twist the key and thinks he can get away with it. the poor thought of it made his blood boil and his pencil snap. He's not going to let it happen again. Not this time.

Tell me more about your BBC Ghosts character roleswap please? (Characters including: Mike, Alison, Kitty, Pat, Captain, Humphrey, the Plague Ghosts, Jemima, Annie)
I will tell you more than you probably ever wanted to know asdfgh
Mike’s much the same as in canon, he just happens to be the one who briefly died and can see the ghosts. I guess in this AU Fanny did it? Or maybe Julian still did - his head can be seen by people, so maybe he appeared to Mike, trying to scare him, and it ended with Mike falling out the window. Julian swears it’s an accident, but the jury is not convinced.
Unlike Alison, I think he would love it from the get-go and be so excited about all his new ghost friends, even the weird ones that hang around in the basement and never come up. They do help him with the boiler, after all. I mean, my man tried to make a potion just to see them, he would be over the moon with it, and I think the contrast of having him so excited while Alison is still reeling from his death + the realisation that ghosts are real and haunting their house is kind of funny.
I think he’d be close to Pat, if only because Pat is the unofficial leader of the group and can (usually) make them listen, very nervous around Fanny (he always feels like he’s about to be told off when he’s around her) and morbidly fascinated with Julian. It’s a very ‘I can fix him :)’ dynamic, with the added bonus of everyone around Mike saying ‘yeah, no you can’t’. he does though, through the power of friendship and threatening to give up Julian's TV slots unless he plays nice.
Alison is still the one with Button ties and she’s very weary of the ghosts to begin with - they did kill Mike, and no matter what he insisted she knows one of them did it, and she doesn’t like not being able to see them - but eventually comes around to them. She still thinks it’s weird and doesn’t get why Mike’s so pumped but sure, whatever keeps him happy. While she can’t communicate with all the ghosts, she can with Kitty (prior to Kitty’s death, she was fogging up the windows with her breathe and writing/drawings on it) and the two still manage to have a sister-ish dynamic, and Fanny who, armed with Julian’s powers, can bother her on google docs/send her emails (mostly to ask if she’s registered to vote)
Pat is a Home Guard captain during WW2, who moved out of Yorkshire during the war to escape the bombing. He wasn’t fit enough to fight (and probably wouldn’t have wanted to even if he was), so joined the Home Guard, stationed at Button Manor. No one in the village had ever fought in a war and his position as a scoutmaster made him the closest thing to a captain around, so he was handed the role. For my own peace of mind, he found out about Carol and Morris before he died through letters they’d been exchanging, but he never actually confronted her about it. At least because he refused to admit it, and then because he didn’t want to upset an already fairly traumatised Daley with tensions at home. But, he did decide that if Carol was going to go behind his back with other men, fuck it, so was he. I just think Pat deserves a chance to have some fun of his own, though he near got serious with anyone. [despite only flirting around in the safety of the manor though, Duke misses all of this and is still shocked when Pat mentions liking men]
Regardless, his story ends vaguely as it did in canon - he was shot by Keith, just by an adult Keith and with a bullet rather than an arrow. I kinda think it would be sweet/sad if the other guards, both to give Pat’s death a bit more dignity and to make sure Keith didn’t get blamed for the accidental death, made up a whole lie about Pat dying in a stand-off with an enemy spy where he definitely fatally injured the spy, just don’t ask where that guy is, it doesn’t matter. I think Pat would be torn between appreciating the gesture and being a bit miffed because Keith killed him and got away with it.
He tries to be optimistic and cheerful, but at the same time, he’s more jaded than canon Pat (he did live through 2 wars, after all), a bit more bitchy from the get-go, and indulges a bit more in some gallows humour.
Captain, or the Duke of Surrey / Kently (Surrey is where the real Manor used for ghosts is, but Kently is the made-up town I tend to use) aka just ‘Duke’, is the regency poet, a man who came from a long line of army captains and generals who never made it into the army himself. He wanted to, but was a sickly kid, constantly bedridden because of this and that. To entertain himself while ill, he got into poetry and soon began writing it himself.
He met Havers at a party, and for the two months Havers stayed in the village, the two got very close. But then Havers was sent off to the front lines and Duke stayed at home, getting sicker and sicker while writing more and more. Eventually, like in canon, Duke snuck into Button Manor to see Havers one last time (though he didn’t nick a Captain’s uniform, being way too sick and delirious to even think of something like that) and died of consumption (aka tuberculous) in the middle of the ballroom, holding Havers’ hand.
Post-death, and unbeknownst to Duke, Havers found some of the poems Duke wrote about him, and after changing the pronouns to protect Duke’s legacy, got them published. Duke was never Byron levels of well-known, but he still became a well-respected writer and is very touched by the gesture once he learns of it. [he also has one poem he wrote for havers he likes to repeat, and over time, the line about brown eyes changes to being about blue yes...]
Like canon Captain, Duke is still quite distant and militaristic at first (habits learned off his father, and not helped by Duke being isolated for most of his childhood) but does have a deep love of poetry. He doesn’t have personal beef with Byron though, and has no idea why Thomas does. Duke is also a lot more lethargic than Captain in canon, the effects of his illness lingering on, and walks with a cane (Haver’s cane) to keep himself steady.
Also, in a very dad move, after Kitty dies he asks her all about the modern technology in her home, and that doesn’t stop even as more modern ghosts show up. As the decades go on she has even less clue what’s what, but that doesn’t stop her from making up answers.
Humphrey’s from the Stuart era, an unmarried Lord, and there kind of two ways my mind goes with his story. One is the straightforward way that mirrors his canon death, like in this fic, where Sophie is accused of witchcraft so Humphrey takes the blame and hangs in her place.
Or there’s my slightly more convoluted backstory where Sophie is married off to a different lord, and even more unhappy with the arrangement, and while hiding away from her husband, Humphrey. The two strike up a friendship - they’re not married so Sophie doesn’t resent him for her situation and is willing to talk to him - bordering on something more, but Sophie’s husband catches wind. Either, it follows the previous options where he accuses Sophie of witchcraft and Humphrey takes the blame, or he just straight-up accuses Humphrey. In the latter, I like to imagine Sophie tried to stop her husband but was locked up in their manor. She managed to escape and arrive on Button grounds just in time for Humphrey to be hanged. She can’t save him, but she can take revenge, so accuses her husband not of witchcraft, but of plotting against the king, forging letters proving so. Maybe she even tries to claim that Humphrey knew this and that’s why her husband hanged him, so Humphrey still goes down in history as being a part of something he wasn’t.
In death, he still has the noose around his neck and though he can loosen it a bit, he still gets breathless very quickly.
I just realised there are a lot of people in this au who can’t run for shit: Captain can’t because of his illness, Humphrey can’t because of the hanging, I imagine Mary wouldn’t have great lungs from asphyxiation, Pat has asthma, and Fanny has some proper heels slowing her down. This is the AU where nobody runs, they all do a slow jog at most asdfgh
He also, understandably, has quite a sore neck, and like how in canon Pat massages Julian’s finger after use (possibly the weirdest sentence I’ve written for this au, but that is a thing that happens in canon) he does the same for Humphrey with his neck.
He’s obviously not in pieces like in canon so gets involved with the gang more, but he still drifts off on his own sometimes to sit by the lake where he first met Sophie and just mope. Thomas also likes to mope around and in the lake though, so sometimes they just sit there awkwardly, moping together
The Plague Ghosts are Puritans who weren’t all that hung up on being pure and died of some illness that Mick brought to the town - pneumonia maybe. They still hang out in the basement and are basically the same except I guess they look a little less horrifying.
Jemima is another Puritan-era ghost who maybe died a bit before or a bit after the plagues, but still from pneumonia. She spends a bit more time upstairs with the other ghosts and bonds with them, encouraged to do so by MIke. He is very scared of the creepy child who hangs around in his pantry, but that’s still a child and she should probably not spend all of her time in the pantry. He eventually gets used to her ominously appearing around corners and singing at random hours in the night, especially after he introduces her to some more modern music - it’s a bit less bone-chilling when the ghost girl is signing Reach for the Stars by Club 7
Annie’s era is switched with the plagues so she’d from the () ages, but she doesn’t die of the plague. She somehow avoided that, despite pretty much everyone else in the village dying from it, but like in canon, kicks it choking on bread. She’s a bit miffed, but kind of glad she died from that rather than the plague.
In order to meet Mary, she has to stay around for much longer and therefore has a bit more history with the other ghosts (ie, she bullied most of them for longer), and is quite protective over Kitty / develops a close friendship with the Captain. She still made fun of him, of course, but they were judgey and mean together, you know? Kind of like Fanny and Cap. And if Annie does stay around unlike canon, or stayed for a little longer after meeting Mary at least, I think her and Fanny could kick it together. Maybe all three of them could, just a weird little trio of women who will insult you to your face.
Before that though, when Mary first shows up, Annie is just fascinated by her. Mary’s a modern woman, she talks about strange machines and devices and people, (some sort of device), she knows how to shoot an arrow and how to read and write, she can manage her finances on her own - Annie thinks she’s a marvel. She doesn’t understand how Mary doesn’t see that and is still so anxious and quiet, and pools all her effort into helping Mary be more confident.
i hope you wanted a lot because a lot was what you got asdfh

I LOVE FILO ZB1 CONTENT SMMMM i usually have these random thoughts in my head abt what the members would be like as filos AND BRO for me ricky is definitely englishero. specifically those kinds that are fluent in tagalog but just prefer speaking in english
actually ricky is so me what the heck.. 😬😬 HE DEF LISTENS TO HEV ABI😬😬😬 it's either he's conyo and is horrible at filipino or he's just what you described him.. this guy is a bgc boy you can't say no
I think I would still keep the chinese and american in him😂😂.. guys guys what if he's a chinese-filipino that grew up in the us and has little to no knowledge abt the philippines.. bro when he gets there he would be THE airport crush wtf.. his parents told him that he should try to go to a public school but he's concerned and worried that he might get made fun of.. A LOT. so he goes to a private school first, then goes to public once he's able to speak filipino properly and stuff but he's only gonna stay there for a year..
bro def goes like "what's the orange ball with the little egg inside?" LMAOOOO🤣🤣🤣🙏🙏⁉️⁉️ he cringes at those err what do you call them.. the genggeng boys😬 they often tell him to try and hangout with them but he just.. ignores them.. "kumaldag ka nga!!" "wtf is a kaldag??"
bro tries so hard not to show off in the days where you're able to wear civilian clothes instead of the uniform but does it anyway.. "bat may lalaking mukhang pupunta sa party.." he even ricky-fies his own uniform and makes it look richer and more classy than it was originally supposed to be.. ehh you get it
def the guy that has EVERYTHING you need for a project, he doesn't really do anything except make the art and have the supplies.. "gaga nawala ung ink ng marker!" *biglang may 7 na marker, bago pa..* the main reason why he doesn't really do anything in the project because his group mates find it hard to communicate with him since his first languages are english and chinese and when he speaks filipino, he has this weird accent..
he knows how to speak filipino naman, it's just that accent that messes everything up.. medyo insecure siya abt it so he just doesn't speak at all. he also doesn't understand kanal humor AT ALL so his classmates don't really like his type of humor.. when he found out that he actually has english-speaking classmates with aircon humor, he tried his best to befriend him but they thought he was weird or didn't want to become friends with him since they thought he was some rich spoiled kid who knows nothing but money.. heck people even used him because of his wealthy status and got hold of the fact that he likes giving gifts to people he's close with..
he's famous around the school just for his looks, nothing else. when he thought his popularity would give him an advantage to get more friends and have a good image. he caught girls trying to sneak gifts or trying to state at him, he thought that this whole thing was making him uncomfortable but he can't do anything though. that's only gonna ruin his reputation. so he didn't mind and ignored the admirers, they're not really his business anyways. he knows he's handsome, he doesn't have to show it off at all times.
he stopped trying to make friends in his school and just sticked to doing his hobbies when he was bored and continued talking to his friends from china and usa, the others just viewed him as some rich kid anyway. the teacher assigned a project that needs a partner for the class, everyone gets to pick their own partner. he looks around with people debating on who should be their partner. he just continued drawing whatever was in his mind waiting for some unfortunate person to have no choice but be partners with him (to his admirers it's very fortunate to be partners with him.. you can see them fighting on who should be his partner, ricky is just enjoying the thought of being alone with no one disturbing him.
ricky suddenly felt a gentle tap on his shoulder. he looked up to see someone, is it an admirer?
"hello? can I be your partner?"
"huh? oh, sure.."
his attention is now on you instead of the drawing of a rose, ricky was caught off guard because of how.. quick this person asked to be his partner without being shy or nervous. he looked at the group of admirers, now fuming because he already has a partner.
(medyo inaccurate ito sorry😭😭)

Just a ramble
I'm uploading the entire SSEC Askblog archive to Toyhouse, and just seeing how the characters developed overtime is bittersweet, especially Dusk. The poor boy at one point was breaking down about how he misses the old askblog, and I can see why. It's pretty night and day. The askers went from asking silly questions to trying to make every character have a breakdown.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ofc, I do realize my part to play in this, as I was the one answering these asks, but they kind of became the majority of them over time ^^; I realize that 2024 marks 10 years of me uploading SSEC weekly, and a lot of big changes are coming to the comic and the characters. Kind of scary changes honestly. A lot of people tell me they grew up with these characters, and honestly, I have as well. I had just turned 14 when I started writing these guys, and now I am like- OLD. It's so weird to know that I've been drawing this comic for almost half of my life and influenced so many people with it. I wish I could say I made a lot of friends along the way, but with my extreme shyness paired with my extreme naivety, it kind of just made it so the people I talked to constantly took advantage of me. And I suppose all of that sadness kind of bled into the comic with how the characters developed and how the story went. Sorry ^^;;
Being a bit candid here, my mental health hasn't exactly been the best. For the majority of last year I had been a paranoid mess due to a certain group of people who honestly terrify me and it didn't really help that there were still people in my life still taking advantage of me. But. The Comic was still there for me. The characters were still there!!! And you know, this latest chapter has been a joy to write. The characters are actually having fun and being friends and I've laughed so much when drawing it and- really what I want to say is that I just don't want them to be sad anymore. I want all of the characters to be friends, to be more like the eevolves characters. Eevolves's main theme is love, and all of the characters are just so cute and loving to each other and it's so nice to write. I suppose it's wish fulfilment or just me projecting the things I want to the characters, but I want things like Blizz and Vay fixing their relationship, or Dawn and Dusk showing how close they are, or Daisy and Flame just enjoying each other's company. I want the characters to communicate with each other and get into stupid funny situations more, I want to see them more happy, I want to see them overcome their sad pasts and start to heal the trauma they went through. Like, they deserve to be happy after all I put them through.
GRRAAHHHHHH!!! I DUNNO MAN I JUST WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY!!!
I WANT THEM TO FIND LOVE, I WANT THEM TO FIND PEOPLE THAT CARE ABOUT THEM, I DON'T WANT THEM TO BE LONELY ANYMORE, I WANT DUSK AFTER LOOSING EVERYONE HE LOVED IN THE PAST TO FINALLY TRUST SOMEONE, I WANT BOLT TO BE REASSURED THAT NONE OF THE OTHER CHARACTERS WILL EVER LEAVE HIM, THAT HE IS THEIR FRIEND AND THEY LOVE HIM PLATONICALLY, I WANT BLIZZ TO FINALLY BE AWKNOWLEDGED BY THE OTHERS AND THE OTHERS TO GENUINELY ENJOY HIS COMPANY, FOR HIM TO FINALLY HAVE FRIENDS THAT HE DOESN'T NEED TO HIDE THE THINGS HE LIKES FROM OUT OF FEAR OR BEING MADE FUN OF, I WANT THE EEVEES TO LIVE GOOD LIVES, I WANT FLAME TO FIND A PURPOSE IN HIS LIFE, TO STOP WALLOWING AWAY IN SADNESS AND DEPRESSION AND ADDICTION, I WANT DAWN TO REALIZE THAT HER WORTH IS NOT MEASURED BY HOW MUCH SHE IS OF USE TO THE TRAINER, THAT SHE DOESN'T NEED TO PUSH HERSELF SO HARD TO BE AWKNOWLEDGED BY PEOPLE WHO DONT ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT HER, I WANT VAY TO REALIZE THAT HE IS ENOUGH, THAT HE DOESN'T HAVE TO PROVE HIMSELF, THAT WHAT THAT ASSHOLE IN THE LAB TOLD HIM IS WRONG! I WANT MIKU TO REALIZE THAT SHE IS NOT TRASH, THAT SHE IS AMAZING AND CREATIVE AND WONDERFUL, THAT SHE IS NOT UNLOVABLE, THAT SHE DOESN'T NEED A SOULMATE TO VALIDATE HER EXISTANCE! I WANT DAISY TO BREAK HER SHACKLES AND ACTUALLY DO THINGS SHE WANTS TO DO! EVE IS EVE! I WANT THE BEST FOR MY STUPID SCRUNKLIES BUT I CANT GIVE THEM THAT BEST DUE TO ALL OF THE ISSUES!

woohoo !! didnt except to respond to this whole essay (for more context, im talking about the document jay made about the drama in the kaeloo fandom lol) considering the fact that its basically just 222 pages of insults towards random (and especially her mental state -who tf do you think you are btw) and then pretending to be a saint by randomly saying "b-but ! i dont h-hate you guys 🥺". i knew that this whole "call-out post" would be bullshit, but thats just low. really, really low. i figured that you and your little friends (or should i refer to yall as a cult too ? since we're going in the extremes :)) were mostly just here to insult people and play the victims, but i didnt think it would be that bad. i wont say much about whats in the document because i think its randoms place to do so, since its basically just a long ass diss to her, but i still wanted to write a short response. am i allowed to though ? i mean, as a teen (even if im 18 in a few months, ive been called underage in your document so ill go with that) i can draw and read explicit content to explore my sexuality 🥺🥺 but i cant think for myself right ? :/ thats too bad. i cant agree with my friends because that would also mean that im a yes-man and that im being manipulated or wtv helps you sleep at night lol
this is just to respond to the little part that has been directly adressed to me: if my answers are short when the drama is brought up its because...i actually dont give that much of a fuck about the drama itself. do i think that you guys are gross for writing and drawing porn of children and animals ? yes, i do. would i care if you just stayed in your own server to share that shit to your "safe place" ? absolutely not. you do you. that is none of my problems if you dont bring it up in a space you share with KIDS. thats the whole problem with you. you posted your disgusting content in websites where kids will obviously find. as an adult, you must be really naive to think that they will just read your warning and think: oh yeah !! ill just move on to a new fic :3 !!
they are kids. this is a kid show. obviously, you are sharing your fandom with kids, and you have to be careful about that. that is your responsibility, whether you like it or not. you cannot except to be appreciated and respected when you write porn about kids, in a fandom full of kids. if you genuinely, truly believe that everyone should accept you for that...then man, theres nothing i can do for you. but you know, you could share your things since you cherish them so much in patreon or in your discord server if its too explicit, but ao3 ? wattpad ? the stm ? those are FILLED with young teens. i can't believe you're whining about having to respect rules to coexist in a fandom of a show about kids with kids...wild
again, this is my OPINION. i cannot force you to not like...well, the things that you like... but i can definitely call you out if you're sharing that to kids, even if its indirectly and that you put warnings or whatever. you need to be cautious about the members of the fandom. if you're unhappy about this, then leave the space that isnt for you.
as i said, this happens in many fandoms filled with minors: bunch of adults are weird. they're being called out for being weird. they cry about it and create a group. they call people who call them weird, weird. its really common. thats why the center of the drama isnt new or interesting to me. thats why i dont write essays whenever it is brought up in the main server, or when nsfw fics were posted there. creeps exist in EVERY FANDOMS. do i still think its good to call them out ? totally. but that explain why i:
1. didn't really say anything when jay were posting their fics. since they agreed with us on the topic of kaeloo fics with nsfw but still were posting them, i figured out that there was not point in arguing. i just ignored the weird parts of the stories or simply didnt read anything. i dont like conflicts, and had a lot going on (still do), so i didnt speak about it before. thats my bad though: even if jay wouldnt have cared because they have a different opinion than me about aging up characters apparently, i shouldve said something whenever i had the chance and not only when the subject of fics with porn was brought up, and i take full responsibility. but you must know that i do not support those type of works and never have said that i do. whenever we spoke about it, i made it very clear that it was gross and that i dont agree with it at all. to tlak about jay's fics again, i mostly was enthusiastic about all the parts where sex wasnt involved (about the ss of me talking about jays fic about pregnancy, i loved seeing how mr cat and kae would act as soon-to-be parents ! i think its cute !! do not mean that i agree with writing full scenes about how that child is made).
jay has great ideas, thats why i liked their work so much. i will never pretend that i hate EVERYTHING that they do. theyve wrote and drew great stuff, and just because i dont agree with them as a person doesnt mean that ill ignore that or the compliments that ive given to them. i admire a lot of their work and didnt lie about any nice things ive said to them. this is not all white or all black.
2. didnt write really big responses in the STM. this is a server about kaeloo. the drama isnt really brought up there, except when its important or at the start of it. with college, job, family issues and the start of adulthood soon, i do not have time to be on discord in the first place. either im here for a brief moment, or i can be active when everyone is asleep so they already said everything i had in mind and all i can say is "yes" to messages i agree with and "no" to messages i dont. you do not know me, and if you genuinely believe that this is all i think about what is happening, then you're just extremely stupid...obv i wont talk about everything i think in details in the STM, or rub it in your face.
the only reason why im involved is because you're harassing my friend and i do not want her to suffer alone. its as simple as that. i will always support my friends in public, and correct them in private if i think they did something wrong. is random perfect ? do i think that she does no wrong ? ofc not. i'll always tell her if i think that she's not doing something right, the only difference is that i'll tell her in private, not in a discord server. how do you except anyone to listen to you if you already don't respect them enough to confront them privately and privately only ?
i think ive spoken for my part and i will not speak for any other people involved in this ridiculous drama. i think this is all really a personal issue with random (and also khamil apparently) and i do not believe that it's my place to speak for any of them. as i think your friend said, which i think is true, im not relevant in this drama, and again im just really here to support random but also to express myself when i think that its a general matter.
so ill conclude this by saying that this is a really disappointing document. posting the insults that have been told to my friend, for no reasons other than hurting her, giving her a few really serious and uncalled for diagnosis, posting her vents from when she was a teen to make her feel vulnerable, posting hateful and ableist comments about her publicly, posting comments of people insulting vulnerable members who need to vent and more...that is so, so petty.
jay, i didnt know you for long and we weren't super close, but i still liked you a lot (/p ofc). i know you'd love to think that you're the victim and that we are all just shit talkers who hated you or whatever, but that is not the case. reading the messages of the drama after the drama has been shocking. reading your tumblr posts, reading what your friends said to my friend, reading your document, all of that have been so disappointing. not here to play violins and act dramatic btw, this is just a fact i wanted to share.
theres a lot of things unsaid, but i think that it's really random's place to speak about it, not me or anyone else. id like to respect her opinion in all of this, so ive only really spoken about what i generally think :] !! that being said, i wont post this seriously about whats going on anymore except if i need to, thats why im blocking a few people too. i want to enjoy my post without child porn being rubbed in my face. i really feel like all this other part of the fandom wants is attention, so i wont focus my whole tumblr on them lol, but calling them out is still important to me. i dont except them to change their ways since they look so sure of themselves, but anyone can dream, right ? sorry about how disorganised it is, or if my english is bad and also for my spelling mistakes lmao 🤸🤸 ty for reading this far though !! please check out random's response when it comes out !!
